What's The Work?
Resident Evil is a popular survival horror video game series created by Capcom. The series follows various characters as they battle against hordes of zombies and other mutated creatures in order to survive and uncover the mysteries behind the outbreaks. The games are known for their intense atmosphere, challenging gameplay, and intricate storylines. The series has spawned numerous sequels, spin-offs, and adaptations in other forms of media, including movies, novels, and comics.
Who's She? What Has She Done?
Claire Redfield is a fictional character in the Resident Evil video game series created by Capcom. She made her first appearance in Resident Evil 2, released in 1998, and has since become one of the most iconic characters in the franchise. Claire is the younger sister of Chris Redfield, another prominent character in the series.
Notable Deeds
RE2: She encounters a young girl named Sherry Birkin, who is being pursued by a monstrous creature known as William Birkin, her mutated father. She faces several threats throughout the game, mainly Brian Irons, Mr X, and Sherry's mother, Annette Birkin. Claire Manages to pass through all these enemies and finally delivers Sherry to safety along with Leon.
Code Veronica: Reunites with her brother Chris at the Antarctic base. Together, they face the final challenges posed by the Ashford twins and the T-Veronica virus. While Claire plays a crucial role throughout the game, the ultimate defeat of the main antagonist, Alexia Ashford, is a joint effort between Claire and Chris, as Chris ultimately delivers the final blow to Alexia, but Claire’s actions and perseverance are vital to their overall success in stopping the spread of the T-Veronica virus and thwarting the Ashfords’ plans, saving the world in the process.
RE Degenration: Claire is at the airport when a zombie outbreak occurs due to a bioterrorist attack. She quickly takes charge, helping to protect survivors and guide them to safety. Later, she reunites with Leon and works together to thwart Frederic Downing's plans, and they succeed in bringing Drowning to justice, saving the world for the third time.
Revelations 2: Claire is the main protagonist of this game. She guides Moira (who's not familiar with firearms) to safety and they work together to reach Alex Wesker. (In the Good ending) Claire, along with Barry Burton, Naltalie, and Moira, confronts Alex Wesker, who has injected herself with the Uroboros virus, mutating into a powerful creature. Claire and Moira manage to hold their own against her long enough for Barry and Natalia Korda to arrive and assist in the final battle. In the climax, Claire, Barry, Moira, and Natalia work together to finally defeat Alex Wesker. Claire Manages to finish Wesker off by blowing her up with a rocket launcher, saving the world once again.
Infinite Darkness: Claire’s and Leon's combined efforts culminate in stopping Secretary Wilson and his co-conspirators from launching a global bioterrorist attack.
Death Island: She works with her brother Chris, Leon, Jill, and rebecca to defeat Dylan, and succeed in doing so, preventing him from infecting the entire planet with the virus and ending humanity.
Admirable Standards
While the admirable standards of the Resident Evil franchise are extremely high, Claire manages to stands out for several reasons:
- Sherry would've lost without Claire's help in RE2, as Leon did not encounter her in his journey. Also, she distracted Birkin while they were fighting him on the train so Leon and Sherry could ensure safety, meaning she put her life on line to protect her allies.
- In REV 2, she clearly made the most of the efforts, as in the final battle in the good ending, if she hadn't interfered, probably Alex Wesker would have succeeded in her plan of ruling the world by taking on Natalia's body, Plus she's the one who killed her.
- She took down several PEs and NPEs: Alexia Ashford (Who's considered the second most evil villain in the entire RE franchise), William Birkin, Secretary Wilson, and Brian Irons (indirectly).
So yeah, Claire played a crucial role in the franchise
Corrupting Factors
NONE AT ALL. Claire Didn't show any corrupting factors throughout the entire franchise, unlike her brother Chris, who's wrathful, short-tempered, and quite lethal.
Perhaps killing Alex Wesker with a rocket launcher may sound a bit lethal, but she had no other alternatives, as it was shown Barry's weapons were completely useless against her, so that was the only way to defeat her.
