Heres another Pure Good Proposal of mine, this time about the female protagonist of the Uncharted series, Elena Fisher.
Who is she and what has she done?[]
Elena was a news reporter who helped Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan to find an ancient treasure in the first game. In the second game she helps Nathan Drake to find the mystical and lost place Shambala and wanted to stop the evil Lazarevic to become immortal and take over the world. So she is responsible for saving the world from an tyrannical maniac and convinced Chloe to help them. In the third game she is worried that something bad would happen to Sullivan because he is old and still goes on dangerous adventures. She later also wants to persuade Nathan and Sullivan to stop looking for the treasure because she feared their safety. In the fourth game she wants to live a normal and happy life with Nathan, but Nathan goes for another adventure to help his brother Sam, so he lies to Elena. When Elena hears about that, she goes after Nathan and when she meets him, she is disappointed and broken that he lied in her face and she was scared every second that something bad would happen to him, that he would die and she would maybe never find out about it. After that she runs out and left him. But in the third act of the game she reunites with him and helps him in finding the treasure of Avery.
Mitigating Factors[]
I can't think about many and the ones that I can think of aren't really corrupting. She often makes jokes (what nearly every Uncharted hero does) and sometimes they are sarcastic, but it isn't really meant to be serious. She shoots enemies in self-defense, so she isn't lethal and kills not for fun. And she was a little bit envious of Chloe at first and made a joke that she is "Last year's model". But that aren't really corrupting factors.
Admirable Standards[]
It's very hard because Uncharted is just about some treasure hunters and thieves who go on searches for ancient treasrues and mysteries. Often they do it for themselves but also sometimes to save the world from the villains like in the second part. Nathan often acts jerkish and is more of an anti-hero. Same goes for Sullivan, Chloe, Sam etc. The only character that stands out with a more Pure Heart in this mostly "anti-heroic setting" is Elena. Mostly because she helps in rescuing the world and also that she is always in fear that something bad is happening to her friends, and often try to convince them that it's too dangerous and not worth it. But she does that only in situations where it is just about the money but not about saving the world. If it means saving the world, she is all in it.
Final Verdict[]
Even if it's a little hard to decide, I think she makes the cut.
