What Is the Work?
The Madagascar franchise by DreamWorks Animation focuses on the adventures of four anthropomorphic animals who once spent their lives in captivity in the Central Park Zoo but are to be shipped back to Africa only to shipwreck at Madagascar. The group would have to return to New York City with other characters, including a group of Adélie penguins, who star in two spin-offs from the main trilogy.
Regarding the spin-offs, the first is the Nickelodeon TV series The Penguins of Madagascar, which is according to the series' creator Tom McGrath, is said to be a parallel universe from the films, making it not canon to the film series. However, the other one which goes with the film canon, Penguins of Madagascar focuses on the Penguins, right after the events of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, who team up with the North Wind intelligence agency to defeat a giant Pacific octopus named Dave, who wants revenge on the penguins for upstaging him in exhibitions.
Who Is He
Private is the adoptive fourth brother to the trio of Adélie penguin siblings, Skipper, Kowalski and Rico, who was hatched from an egg that they rescued from leopard seals on an abandoned whaling vessel.

Why Does He Not Qualify
While Private has no problems with the standards with defeating threats like Dave and Chantel DuBois, the original proposal as stated above did not bring up the fact that he had several lethal moments that he doesn’t have remorse for, also done with the other penguins. The examples are:
- Assaulting the human crew of the boat transporting him and the other penguins, with Rico having the captain bound and gagged before being whooped, while taking them to Madagascar.
- After the plane crash in Escape 2 Africa, Skipper asks for a body count, but the rest of the penguins took it as a number they can work with and high-five in agreement.
- Robbing several human tourists of their vehicles and leaving them stranded, and attempted to kill Nana (although she somewhat deserved it), by running her over after kicking her off the car. Private asks if she is dead but did nothing to stop Skipper from trying to run her over when he knows she isn’t.
- After a miscommunication due to chimpanzees leading them to destroy the dam, he and the rest of the Penguins intend to use the basin as a battering device with Alex and Zuba (Alex’s father) in them, where Skipper notes that “there’s no greater sacrifice than somebody else.”
With these in mind, it could be argued that Private is a bit lethal and easily goes along with the other penguins' corrupting advances, making him not really a morally pure character.
