Both categories Martyr and Died with Honor seems to describe the same thing, a hero who dies for others. Of the two, Martyr was both around first and is conveyed in one word, which always helps reduce the category tag space. I started to clean it out but had some opposition and have held off to see if anyone else has any though, so I thought I would plainly ask to speed things along rather than just keeping it on the back-burner.
Initial point was that Martyrs don't actually need to be dead to be Martyrs.
Yes they do, that is the actual definition, one who gives up their lives for others, there is a secondary meaning having to do with one's life metaphorically being over, but by in large the term means willing lose of life for others or a cause.
Second point was, It's cause Villains wiki has Died with Honor.
It works there because dying with honor is something that is out of place for a villain, and as defined it is like saying, a villain who at least died as a hero. Well pretty much all heroes die as heroes. If we go with that reasoning it is still a repeat but that time of just Deceased Heroes.
Still I wanted to open up the floor to see if anyone else wants the category to stick around, more importantly, why and how does it distinguish as it's own category rather than a repeat? Because of it stays we certainly need to define it better.
