I was originally planning to double propose Suitcase and MePhone4, but while MePhone4 technically possesses no corrupting factors anymore, he's more of an Endeavor case, where that character was rejected from Near Pure Good despite being remorseful for his horrible actions, because said horrible actions were some of the worst in the MHA franchise. Same applies to MePhone4, who is technically the second worst character in the series in terms of horrible actions due to some nasty implications behind his creation of the contestants that even the show acknowledges through this very character I'm proposing through two quotes ("Hey Tissues! Must suck to always be sick all the time. Wouldn't wish that on anyone! But MePhone would. It's funny to him. A big joke!" and "Well, try living like that. Like there's always something wrong with you. Something you can't... ever really... fix."). Suitcase on the other hand? A very good candidate in my opinion.
What's The Work?
Inanimate Insanity is an indie web series based on Battle for Dream Island about objects competing in challenges to win a million dollars. The show started off as lighthearted from Season 1-2a, gained a more serious tone starting from Kick the Bucket, became more lighthearted again with Inanimate Insanity Invitational, and became more serious than ever with Truth or Flare and the II2 finale.
Who Is She?
Suitcase is one of the main protagonists of Inanimate Insanity and arguably the show's deuteragonist due to playing a big role in II2: The Movie, along with Knife (and by the way, II2 is the show's most important season where all the arcs and big reveals come from, and it's also the source of what is the series' actual finale (at least so far), II2 E16-18). Originally presented as just another one of the new contestants in II2, she becomes a bit more complex with her hallucinations showing how much she, along with the other contestants, was affected negatively by the reality show, especially when she trusts Balloon, and Nickel tells her not to do so due to his warped view on loyalty and Balloon messing up things for the Grand Slams many times. This led her to vote off Nickel, not knowing that he was going to be eliminated along with Balloon, thus making quite a dent on her relationship with Baseball in Alternate Reality Show, the episode right after the episode that took place (Kick the Bucket). This was a cause of her standing up for herself thanks to Knife telling her to make her presence known.
She doesn't have big roles in the other episodes of the series until II2 E15, which is the culmination of all of her thoughts, since she was the most honest about her feelings out of all of the remaining four contestants. She felt that Baseball voting out Test Tube and calling it "nothing personal" was not a fair comparison, because he was voting off his friend and playing it off like a heroic sacrifice, even though he was only doing it to stay in the game and not out of standing up for himself. She also said out loud that she befriended Balloon, thinking he deserved another chance. In the II2 Movie, she, along with Knife, try to defeat Cobs, only to find out that MePhone4 created them and the other contestants, making her hate MePhone4 for making them the way they are. When Cobs brings her to an arena fight, she questions Cobs about the egg 3GS got for him, With the revelation that MePhone4 created everybody traumatizing Suitcase, she starts to believe everything is fake, and thus, doesn't believe she could join Knife in defeating Cobs. However, Knife still wanted both him and Suitcase to defeat Cobs and stop what he's doing to the Shimmers. When Cobs decides both Suitcase and Knife should fight to the death, both point out their flaws to each other, with both pointing out that they're not real, and Suitcase pointing out that Knife is being like his jerkish self again in the fight. Knife then points out that so much about Suitcase was in her head, and claims she isn't real enough to be fake. Suitcase replies by saying she doesn't know how real anything is, but because everything was generated through MeLife, she and Knife come to the conclusion that even Cobs' ship is fake. They let Toilet delete everybody, including themselves so that Cobs doesn't kill the Shimmers.
When it's revealed that despite the contestants being deleted, they didn't permanently die, and are, instead, in some purgatory inside of MePhone's body, Suitcase meets Box, who tells her about her tragic backstory on how she died. Suitcase tells her that they participated in the show with her deceased body, even though she didn't know that she was alive at one point. Box points out that MePhone's creations are doing a race from the red line that mocks them, which hinders their progress, and thus, makes it easy to delete them, and that it's the only way out. Suitcase then questions about Bow and Dough, characters Box saw get hit by the red line, but Suitcase reminds her that the two did come back, but lost their corporeal bodies. Box reminds Suitcase that even if contestants come back, they still live a life by MePhone4's rules, and that their good acts aren't always worth it. Suitcase reminds her that the right thing doesn't always happen back to those who do good acts, and you give yourself a better chance if you have friends to help you. She then brings everybody near her, Box, Balloon, Fan, Test Tube, Lightbulb, and Paintbrush. Knife then shows Suitcase that the Pic-Nix tables can generate food-based weapons. Suitcase then gets everyone to do the race in the purgatory so all can escape. One of my favorite scenes in the show commences, where everyone works together to get everyone out of the purgatory (especially when Knife saved Marshmallow). When MePhone recovers everybody, Suitcase then lets Cobs take the "egg" from her, which is actually a bomb that kills him, with Box giving the Shimmers the real egg. Then she states that everybody has to rebuild their community and says MePhone quitting Inanimate Insanity is for the best. The second season (and probably the entire show) ends with Suitcase reading Balloon's poem from III.
Admirable Standards?
This is zero problem for her at all. She's by far the most admirable character in the series. Suitcase and Knife save an entire species together by getting Toilet to pull the plug on everybody (and you may argue that she was planning genocide right there, but that wasn't her intention, and this was a subverted factor because she was having a heating up period in thinking nobody was real, and she and Knife decide to get everyone to escape the purgatory inside of MePhone4 by beating the red line in the race) to stop Cobs from committing genocide, coming up with the plan to bring back everybody to the real world and save them from purgatory, and ultimately kills Cobs, preventing him from causing any harm again.
And no, I'm not making a removal proposal for MePad, even if he has more resources than Suitcase. From the looks of it, he was not really aware of the Shimmers, and he did the absolute best he could with the knowledge he had regarding the terrible situations surrounding the show.
Mitigating Factors?
Like I said, the closest she could get to a disqualification is indirectly committing genocide on herself, Knife, and the rest of MePhone's creations, but this is justified, because this was the only way to stop Cobs from killing the Shimmers, and also a result of the fact that she didn't want a winner because everyone has suffered enough from the show and how MePhone4 made them, thus technically putting the remaining contestants out of their misery. Also, the fact that Toilet and Cobs, with the help of MePhoneX, already deleted many other contestants with only a few remaining (Apple, Marshmallow, Microphone, Taco, and Paper, with Box not counting, since she's been a dead contestant from the beginning of the series) makes this even less of a mitigating factor, since this means she only killed off six people (excluding herself, but including Knife, who accepted his fate along with Suitcase), with Objects In Mirror showing that these six can come back anyway. I also deem it a subverted corrupting factor, because she brings back everybody and gets them to race on the red line, thus undoing her genocide on the remaining few contestants. Furthermore, she didn't want to get everybody deleted either. So yeah, safe to say this is a subverted corrupting factor, and not even II fans would consider this a valid mitigating factor given that she reverses the effects of what she did to the surviving contestants afterwards.
There's also her betrayal of Nickel and Baseball, which were both obviously her standing up for herself and deciding on what an alliance really is. She did regret both actions, especially when it was revealed Nickel was eliminated due to her single vote. She's also the only character to successfully, intentionally, and directly kill someone permanently (Cobs doesn't count, because he didn't kill MePad intentionally, although he did not care when he did kill him) with no way of return (at least when Yin ate Dough, Dough was able to come back as a ghost), but this is a justified killing, because her victim was Steve Cobs, the most evil character in the series and the one who was responsible for all the negative events in the series. And it isn't a brutal death either. It was extremely quick, even though MePhone4 says it went beyond the Parental Guidance rating.
Final Verdict
Easy yes to Suitcase! Next candidate is from my favorite Nintendo video game franchise of all time, having become one of its deuteragonists ever since 2011 after appearing as a minor character in a minigame from a 1996 SNES game and its remake. Have fun guessing who it is! And this time, please actually try to guess who it is.
