Maddie makes breakfast
Blue alien hedgehogs still count as people. Right?
~ Maddie agreeing to aid Sonic.

Welcome to my second PG Proposal of the year. This character is already agreed to have no corrupting factors, and this should be a quick and easy one. (No BoH intended)

Special thanks to the original reserver, Zerukin, for giving me permission on Discord.

NOTE: This proposal will contain spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

What's the work?

The Sonic Cinematic Universe is a film franchise based on Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The franchise follows Team Sonic on their quests to defeat various evil threats, most notably Dr. Robotnik, and later, Shadow the Hedgehog and Professor Gerald Robotnik.

Who is She?/What has she done?

Maddie Wachowski is one of the franchise's major characters. She is a veterinarian who marries Tom Wachowski, and lives with him.

First Movie

She is first seen doing Yoga practices while Sonic watches, and later watches a movie with Tom, and delivers a letter addressed to him, after Tom reads it, she explains that she had prepared two different cakes for him, (one for if he got the job and one for if he didn't) and reassures him that she's fine with moving out of the state.

She is next seen having taken residence in her sister's house while finding a residence for Tom in San Francisco. She later calls Tom about the power outage, and urges him to advise against using her tranquilizer gun at all.

She doesn't appear again until Tom stops by Rachel's house while being chased by Dr. Robotnik. She urges her sister to let Tom in without any issues, and ends up arguing with her until Sonic is revealed. She revives the hedgehog with a smelling salt and asks Tom about it, even calling him out for accidentally using her tranq gun against Sonic.

She, Tom and Sonic then go to San Francisco, and Sonic defeats Robotnik, saving the couple, who later adopt him as their son.

Second Movie

In this movie, she and Tom travel to Hawaii for Rachel's wedding, leaving Sonic home alone. She isn't seen again until Sonic and Tails enter the wedding via a ring. She asks Sonic about what had happened, and the hedgehog reveals Robotnik's evil scheme.

She later teams up with Rachel to rescue Sonic and Tails from captivity. When they are freed, she advises Sonic to decide against facing Robotnik alone, but he refuses out of fear of more deaths.

She and Tom later confront Robotnik outside a cafe, and later help to evacuate the residents. She and Tom then notice a truck, ask to borrow it, and Maddie rescues Sonic, and chooses to die with him along with Tom. When Sonic successfully activates the Master Emerald, she and Tom cheer him on until he kicks Robotnik's robot down.

In the ending, she and Tom decide to play baseball with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, having taken in the latter two as well.

Knuckles series

Maddie has a relatively small role in this series. She only appears the first episode, where she hires a crew to fix the damage to her house. When Knuckles fights them off, she reassures them that she meant no harm, and that Knuckles is just a big kid with a huge imagination, before having Sonic reassure him that he has no reason to fight anyone anymore.

The next morning, she makes breakfast for Team Sonic, only to find out that Knuckles had built an iron throne at their breakfast table, and that he had turned the living room into a "Warrior Fighting Pit". She furiously grounds him after noticing he intended to have Ozzy fight the mailman. After calling Wade, she is not seen again for the rest of the series.

Third Movie

She and Tom are first shown having Team Sonic race, and throw an anniversary celebration for Sonic's arrival to Earth. When Team Sonic leaves for Tokyo, she advises them to make good decisions only. She doesn't appear again until Team Sonic arrives at her house to tell them about the villains' threat. She, Tom and Team Sonic then make a plan to infiltrate G.U.N. headquarters and arrive in London. She disguises herself as Rachel and convinces the G.U.N. staff to grant them access.

She can later be seen in an ambulance and in a hospital with her husband, and does not reappear until the end of the film, where she has a campfire with her husband and children.

Admirable Standards

This is why she is considered a HB as of the writing of this proposal. Sure, the SCU has a high admirable standard, but what really irks me is the fact that her HB page states she fails to her husband, Tom. No, just no. Maddie is a simple veterinarian, while her husband is a police officer, who is briefly shown to have access to a handgun, and a speed checker. He also has more authority over the residents of Green Hills, so comparing her to Tom is, frankly, not fair in the slightest, and she obviously can't be compared to Team Sonic because of their supernatural abilities.

Even so, she manages to pass the standards by helping Team Sonic infiltrate G.U.N.'s headquarters, and saving Sonic from being killed by Robotnik in the second movie, which allowed him to use the Master Emerald to destroy Robotnik's giant robot. She also helps to save him and Tails from the G.U.N. agents, and disables G.U.N.’s shield guarding the headquarters.

Mitigating Factors

While she does have some moments of anger, especially in the Knuckles series, they can be justified as heating up periods given they're slightly brief, and the franchise does go out of its way to show that they are justifiable. For example, she only yells at Knuckles and grounds him after discovering he intended to have Ozzy fight the Mailman, and she isn't shown to have any other corrupting qualities.

In the first episode of the Knuckles series, she tries to explain Knuckles's attack to the repair crew, which was not out of cowardice, but to assure them that she never intended for them to get hurt.

Her hitting Tom in the third movie as well can be justified as a heating-up period, given they could have gotten in major trouble if they were caught undisguised, and were almost caught. It's also worth noting that she only did it after hearing footsteps, not to mention they had to disguise themselves in order to even get access to the headquarters.

Final Verdict?

I'd say she counts, but the decision is up to y'all.
