Clark Kent is the main protagonist of the TV series Smallville and is an adaptation of the DC comics superhero Superman. He is played by Tom Welling.
Who is he?[]
Like his counterparts from the comics and other media, Clark Kent of Smallville is an idealistic and compassionate hero who often does good, selfless deeds without any thought for himself, taking zero credit for the crimes he stops and the people he saves. He has the ability to always find the good in people, inlcuding his own enemies, which manifests itself into a willingness to trust others to a fault. His ability to find the good in others has led to the redemption of several villains, including Lionel Luthor and Tess Mercer. He also adopts a strict "no-killing" policity and completely rejects the idea that even the greater good can ever justify killing someone, even if it means that many others may die. Clark has willingly risked his own life to save his loved ones countless times and has, on several occasions, offered his home to strangers seeking refuge. He often blames himself for things he had no control over, despite many of his friends and family members repeatedly telling him there was nothing he could've done.
Corrupting Factors[]
His closest form of corruption is whenever he's exposed to red kryptonite, which strips Kryptonians of their inhibitions causing them to become dangerous and unpredictable, or whenever he was under the mind-control of one of his enemies. However, Clark is never in control of his own actions during these instances and feels immense removes as soon as the substance wears off.
