Awhile back, I noticed someone added the Pure Good category to Gruffi Gummi's article [1]. It has since been removed [2], but I wanted to create this proposal to prevent this from happening again.
What is the Work?[]
Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears is a 1985 Disney cartoon about a group of mythological bears who defend the fictional English kingdom of Dunwyn from the evil tyrant Duke Igthorn during the middle ages.
Duke Igthorn wishes to overthrow Dunwyn's ruling monarch, the benevolent King Gregor and rule the kingdom with an iron fist, he does so by numerous means, ranging from super weapons to kidnapping his daughter Princess Calla. The Gummi Bears act as the main foil to his plans, as in almost every episode they defeat him by various means, often times with the aide of a powerful elixir called Gummiberry Juice that allows the bears to bounce and their human allies to gain super strength for a short time.
Very few humans know about the Gummis' existence, with a page named Cavin, Princess Calla, and Cavin's grandfather Sir Gawain being amongst the few exceptions.
Why He doesn't Qualify?[]
Gruffi Gummi is very egocentric and wrathful, while he respects his friends and glen, he is notably very strict, no-nonsense and bossy, believing that all Gummis should follow a code known as "The Gummi Way", and avoid being drawn into foreign customs of other groups (such as humans); this essentially means he is the most misanthropic/xenophobic of the six (later seven) Gummis of the glen.
Despite being the self-proclaimed leader of Gummi Glen, he is the most reluctant of the Glen Gummis to assist in defending Dunwyn as shown in the very first episode onwards, even though he views King Gregor as a good, benevolent ruler, he doesn't place full trust on him.
His attitude is often seen as jerkish to the other Glen Gummis, as well as Cavin and Princess Calla, and he is shown to have a bitter rivalry from time to time with Grammi Gummi, who has nearly the exact opposite views of humans, traditions, and "The Gummi Way" than he does.
Final Verict[]
Gruffi may be good at heart, but he is no where near Pure Good, so this should be an easy cut.
