Hi everyone, Emeraldblade95 here to bring you all another announcement.
As we enter the late half of Spring, several things have been going on as of recently that I like to address, and some new things that will be going on in the near future. This announcement will cover all this information.
Outright Category Removal[]
As many of you may not have noticed, the Outright category is in the process of being removed entirely from the site. The reason for its removal is because the category itself has a very vague and generic definition that can be implemented to a large majority of Heroes who are neither Pure Good nor Anti-Heroes, and as such it was largely abused. I know some of you are not happy with this change, but unfortunately the a decision was made by both Administrators and several of the trusted users on the site to remove the category. Anyone caught trying to restore the category to pages will have it reverted and will receive a warning, if repeated, you could face a block.
You can all help out in the cleanup by removing the category on pages that have it. If the page is protected, please let an Administrator know, and we'll remove the category.
Other Category Overhauls[]
Some of our categories are getting slight overhauls with navigation, such as "Fighter" becoming "Fighters" for better clarity.
I've also noticed some categories that are redundant in the past, like "Archenemy" and "Nemesis". I feel that only one is really necessary, as both words are technically synonyms.
If anyone would like to address their opinion on this matter, as well as other redundant categories, please leave a message in the comments.
Site Design Overhaul[]
Recently, I have talked to DarkUnknownWarrior about implementing a new design to the site to help it resemble one similar to that of Villains Wiki. We have came up with an initial background wallpaper, which has a blue theme to it with crystals, but the next process will be implementing various images of Heroes on the side similar to that found on the Villains Wiki wallpaper. At the moment, we are still in the brainstorming, conceptional stage of the project, but we are hoping to implement the new design to the site soon.
If anyone is interested in helping out by nominating a potential candidate to be in the background, please let me or DarkUnknownWarrior know. I will also be starting a Discord session to discuss this issue in the near future as well.

In recent months, I have received complaints from users describing how problematic the Approved and Rejected Good Articles Navigation Templates are. The most common complaint is that the templates take up so much data that they are causing slowdowns on computers and phones alike. I have also noticed that Villains Wiki had removed the templates for similar reasons in the past as well.
Because of this, I have ultimately decided that it is time that the navigational templates are to be removed to help prevent slowdowns. The categories "Approved Good Articles" and "Rejected Good Articles", as well as the Templates for confirming that the articles are approved or rejected for the category (the ones with the colored lock icons) however will stay, with the categories being moved to the "PG Approved" and "PG Rejected" templates respectively.

As of now, all navigational templates will revert back to there original, text-based format. This comes over the fact that Villains Wiki is no longer using images in their navigational templates to help save data. As such templates such as Disney Heroes, Soul Calibur Heroes, and sadly Featured Articles will revert back to displaying the links of articles through the names of the targeted articles.
I hope I'm not making anyone upset with this message, but I hope everyone understands what's going on in the meantime as well.
