Rejected

Welcome to my third PG proposal blog. Nearly every incarnation of the famous DC villain, Joker is considered Pure Evil. Well, here we have a heroic version of Joker called Jester, and I'm curious to see if you think he is Pure Good or not.

Justice League - Crisis on two Earths 0118

What is the work?[]

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earth's is part of DC's animated film series. Most of the action is set on an alternate reality where the DC heroes and villains have their roles reversesd. Ledx Luthor is the leader of a Justice League made up of Superheroes who are good counterparts of DC villains, while there is an organization called the Crime Syndicate made up of evil counterparts of DC heroes. By the time the movie starts, the Syndicate has wiped out all but 2 of Justice League, who begin to find ways to travel to the mainstream DC universe and ask the Justice League for help.

Who is he? What has he done?[]

The Jester is ther alternate reality's version of The Joker, but a heroic version. Like Joker, he has a sense of humor and has some of Joker's equipment such hydrolchloric acid and bombs with smiles painted on them, but he uses them to protect people. Jester was part of his universes Justice League, and was good friends with his world's Lex Luthor who was also the leader of the Justice League. But that all changed when the Crime Syndicate rose to power and began killing the League until only Jester and Luthor were left.

Knowing that they could not defeat the syndciate on their own, the two later gained intel of a device called the Quantom Trigger, which would allow them to travel to the mainstream DC universe and ask the Justice League for help. Unfortunetly, the trigger was held in a secure facility owned by J'edd Jarkus, the evil counterpart of the Martian Manhunter. The duo were able to infiltrate the facility and steal the trigger, Jester even used his acid to open the safe where it was contained. But they set off a silent alarm that alerted Jarkus who immediantly set of to stop the heroes along with his right hand landy, Angelique, the evil counterpart of Hawkgirl.

The villains pursued the heroes through the facility until they reached a room with escapable airducts. Luthor immediantly jumped in, but Jester could tell by the rumbling that if they kept running, Jarkus and Angelique would capture and kill them both. He told Luthor that it was time get serious, and then, cracking one last joke he told Luthoer to get his shiny bald head out because it was hurting his eyes. With that, he sealed the duct and awaiting Jarkus's arrival. Jarkus and Angelique caught up to Jester and effortlessly defeated him. They they began to torture Jester and ordered him to hand over the stolen trigger. Jester knew he would not survive this and said that he was down to his last joke, but that it would "kill them." With that, he donated a bomb, killing himself, Jarkus, and Angelique.

Despite his death, the Jester's actions were not in vain. As Luthor was able to recruit the mainstream Justice League who helped him defeat the Crime Syndicate and save all reality. The Legue even used Jester's base as a base of operations, where they were greeted by a monkey dressed in a Harlequin costume. Luthor sorrowfully told the monkey "I'm sorry, Harley. The Jester's never coming back."

Goodness/Admirable Standards[]

While only eppearing in the movies opening, The Jester's actions lead to infinite lives being saved. He was able to steal the Quantom Trigger, and sacrificed himself to save Luthor, and take out 2 members of the Crime Syndicate. Unlike Joker, he apparently loved the Harley Quinn of his universe and cared for her, despite the fact that she was a monkey.

Corrupting factors[]

Jester was still willing to kill Jarkus and Angelique, which is not something smiled upon by most Superheroes. He even smiled as he detonated the bomb. But it's unknown if he was smiling because he was trying to be brave, or if he took joy in killing the villains.

Final verdict[]

I can live with Jester getting a rejection as he is only a minor character in the movie, but his actions lead to countless lives being saved and the defeat of the Crime Syndicate. So I'm still going to say yes. The rest is up to you.
