Ellie Fredricksen

This is my 5th Removal so far, and Yet again I don't even know If i should regret it or just simply put it to good use in discussing what was the problematics in the famous movie Pixar has made besides the nostalgic childhood of Toy'R'U- I mean, Toy Story.

But to be clear people, I don't even want to bother arguing with this and in some scenarios, I'm pretty darn aware of the PG Category abuse. But this candidate here does or not in the slightest, seems to be put there if worthy of it or not.

Introducing the late wife of Carl Fredricksen, Ellie, the Topic of Today.

What's the Work?[]

As I've said and mentioned from my last removal on Kevin (Up)

Up is an 2009 Pixar animated film that had been praised and acclaimed to be one of the Best Pixar movies made by the studios for his incredible storywriting and sympathetic backgrounds that drove the audience to tears. This story focuces on an elderly man whom floats away with his house, using thousands of balloons to fulfill a promise he made with his late wife, but things backfire surprisingly as a young scout, a talking dog, and a rare anicent bird came across.

Who is She? Why She Doesn't Qualified?[]

Ellie Fredricksen serves as an important character and the posthumous protagonist in the 2009 Pixar movie and Academy Award Winning film, Up. She is the late wife of Carl and dreamed about living in Paradise Falls with him. Sadly, the tragic part is she passed away, leaving Carl to make her dream a reality.

At first in the film, When she met Carl as kids, she wasn't all that nice when she rudely frighten him at first but now acts friendly, probably that's she was back then and when they made a promise to head to the Falls one day, she demandly made Carl cross his heart to promise, which he did as a response.

But as the film goes on to their married life, saving enough money for their trip for the Falls, not having a baby due to her condition, and grows old with him, still living the same happiness they have but ends with a tragic passing. Leaving Carl all alone.

However near the climax when Muntz burns the house Carl and Ellie have made, she posthumously leaves a message and a bunch of photos in her Adventure book for Carl to see in curiousity if he were to see it. All along even if she dreamed of heading to Paradise Falls, her greatest adventure was with having a life with Carl, this directly motivates him to go on and make a new promise for her, having another adventure.

Even though this proves everything Carl has done for her was not how she wanted him to be in, but still wants him to go further in the end.

But the main problem with Ellie is that her Admirable Standards is very, very low but to have end up motivating Carl with something she left behind posthumously. But again, it does not seem to feel near as PG as I thought and its troubling because she didn't do anything heroic but serves as a important factor that motivates Carl from being a grumpy old geezer to a man with a finally repaired heart.

Overall, Ellie does not seem to be or could be worth the status of PG if depending how the story itself was told.

Final Verdict[]

I'm not deciding on this. Because given on Ellie's character throughout the film and her screentime, it's problematic and hard for me to verdict how well she did as a posthumous character.
