The Last Unicorn is a Japanese film aimed at English speakers. It focuses on the titular character, who wants to find out what happened to her unicorn family and friends, and why they are all gone.
Who is she? What has she done?[]
Amalthea is the main protagonist, and is an Irish unicorn who aims to find the other unicorns, who are rumored to have disappeared. She goes across her country to find out what happened, with her friends Molly and Schmendrick. She ends up at King Haggard's castle, where he finds out she's a unicorn, not a human. She later gets a happy ending after turning back into her natural self and finding the other unicorns still exist.
Corrupting Factors[]
She gets mad when she hears people call her a mare, which is a silly reason for anger. Her other probem is her severe case of depression, where she is never happy and almost loses her mind several times. She also lets the harpy at Fortuna's freakshow go, despite her being a dangerous beast, because Amalthea is more concerned about animal cruelty.
Admirable Standard[]
Despite those cons, she still insists on her journey to find the other unicorns, going across Ireland, dealing with all the foes that get in her way, without getting lazy or being rude to anyone. While she is scared of Haggard, I don't recall her running away.
