Uso Ewin is the 13 year old main protagonist of Mobile Suit Victory Gundam. He is a member of the League Militaire and the pilot of the Victory Gundam.
He is voiced by Daisuke Sakaguchi in the Japanese version of the anime, and by David Kaye in the English version of the anime.
Uso Ewin lived at Point Kasarelia with his best friend Shahkti Kareen and a number of other children. He was the son of Mueller Miguel, an engineer at Anaheim Electronics who designed the Victory Gundam. Uso would later join the League Militaire and pilot the Victory Gundam into battle against Zanscare.
Uso's mother later developed the Victory 2 Gundam for him to pilot, but was captured by Zanscare's forces. Uso attempted to rescue his mother, but tragically lost her when a Lysithea-class exploded and blew her head off. Uso would later bury his mother's head.
During the final battle against Zanscare's ultimate superweapon, the Angel Halo, Uso played a key role in bringing down the Halo. He also settled his rivalry with Cronicle and destroyed his mobile suit, causing Cronicle to eject from the cockpit and die by being hit with some of the degree from the Angel Halo. He was subsequently attacked by a vengeful Katejina Loos at the end of the battle, but Uso used the Wings of Light on his mobile suit to deflect Katejina's beam attack back at her and defeat her.
After the war ended, Uso went to live with Shahkti and Marbet along with the other kids who accompanied him back at Point Kasarelia.
- Uso was originally planned during the production of the show to be the descendant of Char Aznable, with his mother even sharing the same last name as Char's last mistress, Nanai Miguel, whom he fathered at least one child with. However, this was never revealed in the show and Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino has denied this being the case.
