The Utroms are an alien species that appear in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 cartoon series. They originated from Dimension X, and was once a peaceful race until a scientist named Kraang discovered the mutagen and used it to control a large amount of Utroms, forming the Kraang and became Kraang Prime. Other Utroms, including their Queen, then fleed and plotted to stop him. Some, like Bishop, would eventually break free from Kraang's control.

The Utroms were once a peaceful race in Dimension X, before the scientist Kraang discovered the mutagen and used it to mutate himself, before controlling a large amount of Utroms, forming the Kraang and became Kraang Prime. The other Utroms then worked to free their brainwashed brethren. Some of the Kraang also managed to break free from Kraang Prime's control, such as Bishop.
Eons later, the Kraang invented the Heart of Darkness to fight against the Triceratons and managed to destroy their homeworld. The Utroms then acquired and splitted it into three pieces, scattered across the universe to prevent anyone from ever using it again.
The Utroms help the Turtles to stop the Kraang throughout the series. At one point the Turtles travel back in time and meet an Utrom in Dimension X to find the two pieces of the Heart of Darkness. The Kraang take advantage of this to find the Utroms' hidden base and kidnap the Queen, but the Turtles alongside two Salamandrian allies help the Utroms rescuing her.
Eventually, Bishop reveals the origins of the Kraang and the Utroms, including those of Kraang Subprime and himself.
