Appearance[]
Vaggi is a slim humanoid fallen angel who subtly sports a moth-themed design with grayish-lavender skin, and very long grayish-white knee-length hair which forms a moth wing shape. Her hair tips are faded purple and there is a stripe of the same color above them, forming a peak over the center of her body. She has long, jagged bangs which cover the left side of her face, and on the back of her head, she accessorizes with a reddish-pink hair-bow with small tears on each side and a pair of very long, mid-thigh-length tails. In Season 2, the hair-bow is used as a hair tie to hold her hair up in a high ponytail.
Her right eye has a light pink sclera, an ivory iris, and long, thick, feathery eyelashes, while her left eye has been replaced by a slate-gray eyepatch that sports a red-pink "X" shape. Her mouth has small fangs and dark gray lips, and she has a rather prominent, hawk-esque nose. Her fingernails are dark gray.
Vaggi wears a short-sleeve blouse that is the same color as her bow and the "X" shape on her eyepatch, with a dark gray pointed peter-pan collar, dark gray scalloped trimming on the sleeves, and two dark gray buttons down the front. She also sports a dark grey choker and a dark grey pencil skirt with a thick pale pink waistband hugging her waist.
Vaggi's accessories include a set of fingerless slate-gray opera gloves and matching thigh-high stockings with white scalloped hems. She also wears white flats.
Back when she was an Exorcist, Vaggi's hair was short and kept in a chin-length jagged bob cut with one strand sticking out, and she had both of her eyes as well as a pair of large feathered-wings on her back, and a halo hovering above her head. Her left eye, halo and wings were then ripped out by Lute. After training with overlord Carmilla Carmine, Vaggi regrew her wings which sported a gradient of gray-colors, in contrast to her previous wings which sported a black-to-white color scheme. Both her old wings and her regrown wings have a single stripe along the front, unlike those seen on other Exorcists, which have two stripes.
Pilot[]
In her pilot design, Vaggi's hair is the same color, but the stripes at the end were instead light pink.
Her bow is colored in a paler shade of red-pink, and its appearance is softer-looking that is not torn. She also sported gray eyeshadow for makeup.
She instead wore what appears to be a light slate-gray one-shouldered bra under a white tank minidress with loose straps, two light gray crosses on her chest, and light gray scalloped trim at the bottom. In addition, she also wore a light slate-gray belt around her waist.
Her accessorized choker and arm-length gloves are the same light slate-gray color - her right glove covers her entire hand while her left is fingerless. She also wore thigh-high stockings that are scalloped white at the top - her right is a full light slate-gray while her left, light pink and light slate-gray in a striped-pattern.
Personality[]
| “ | This one judges everyone and everything because she hates herself. | „ |
| ~ Husk talking about Vaggi’s personality, hinting at her insecurities. |
Vaggi has an aggressive temper and controlling tendencies. She is also the most sensible and more level headed of the group she genuinely cares for Charlie and is quite protective of her, and also is a bit of a Neat freak. According to Angel, she seems to distrust men, possibly due to her former boss being Adam. Her temper explodes as seen with Angel Dust and Alastor due to the former's actions ruining the reputation of the Hotel and the latter's clear evil intentions.
Trailers for the regular series seem to portray her as a cynical realist, trying to convince Charlie not to become overly-optimistic about her plan.
Vaggi loves Charlie wholeheartedly, being just as genuine and affectionate to her girlfriend; calling her pet names. She is always willing to comfort Charlie with hugs when she's upset; even respecting when Charlie needs alone time. Above all, Vaggi puts Charlie's safety first, which is why she is very wary of Alastor, whom is only supporting the Hotel for laughs; plus any demon getting any leverage of the Princess of Hell would be very bad.
Vaggi is a pragmatic and cautious angel who devotes a great deal of her time attempting to support Charlie with her vision for the hotel, as well as guiding her away from as much trouble or humiliation as possible.
She is tough, but she has a heart of gold. Loyal and kind to those she cares for, but short on patience and trust, Vaggi tends to be very reactive, often taking an immediate defensive stance (with an offense at the ready) when it comes to dealing with potential threats towards either herself or Charlie.
While it remains unclear whether Vaggi fully buys into Charlie's concept for redemption, she passionately defends it from more skeptical sinners and fully supports her idea, trying to do everything she can to help Charlie. Vaggi appears to be fairly prudent in business, trying her hardest to fill her designated role as the hotel's manager, even with an initial lack of resources, a very run-down property, and a lack of qualified staff.
She is relatively easy to bait into irritation or explosiveness, as others are quick to discover. Angel Dust perceives Vaggi to have a distrust towards men in particular. Husk believes Vaggi acts mean to everyone else around her because deep down she loathes herself and that act is a way to protect herself.
Back when she was an Exorcist angel, she was described by Adam as one of his top Girls, which suggested that she was previously ruthless given how, like a lot of Exorcists, she slaughtered thousands of Sinners during the yearly Exterminations. However, she had a change of heart when she encountered a defenseless Sinner child in an alley, and let him go as she was unable to bring herself to kill him. Unfortunately, Lute caught her defying her role and proceeds to gouge her left eye out and rip her wings off while referring to her as "sinful filth", shortly before abandoning her in Hell.
Shortly after, she met Charlie, who gave her first aid. The two eventually fell in love, and Vaggi became loyal and protective of her. This may have also helped Vaggi abandon most of her ruthless ways and change for the better. However, she also came to view herself as a weapon and a defender rather than an individual. In "New Pentious," she slowly works her way to seeing herself as an individual instead of a weapon and defender. She works to try and find a new name to replace "Vaggie," the name Adam gave her.
In the new season, Vaggi seems to not hold her spear around anymore and is more easier to communicate than earlier.
Despite abandoning her Exorcist past and beliefs, she kept her spear for protection and is still wary of sinners who could potentially be a threat to her and Charlie.
Powers and Abilities[]
Skillset[]
- Angel Physiology: As a fallen angel, she retains superhuman physical characteristics such as strength, speed, agility, durability, and reflexes from her angelic nature. Her wings also allow her to fly, and her endurance is notably greater than most demons due to her celestial heritage.
- Expert Combatant: Vaggi demonstrates a considerable physical strength that belies her slight frame when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. She is able to swiftly punch a male demon off his chair in one bare-knuckle hit.
- Nigh-Invulnerability: do to being a Angel, she is invulnerable to damage.
- Weapon Proficiency: Vaggi projects proficiency when handling weapons, and seems to favor blades. Although she has yet to actually make use of her larger weapons, she does not lack confidence when it comes to brandishing them for self-defense, and she is able to throw a dagger into the electric window button of a car with pin-point precision.
- Bilingualism: Vaggi can fluently speak Spanish, as well as English.
- Intellect: Despite only passing into hell relatively recently herself, Vaggi appears to have quite a comprehensive knowledge regarding the hierarchies and folklaw of hell, particularly those pertaining to her area of residence, the Pride Ring, and the machinations of the power-jostling sinners located there. She understands the looming dangers of the Overlords, their politics, as well as the tale of how Alastor became the first mortal soul to harness enough power to "begin to topple overlords who had been dominant for centuries".
- Wing Manifestation: While battling with Carmilla Carmine about the exorcist angels' weakness, she regrows her wings giving her the ability of flight again. Vaggi needs the back of her shirts torn open to let them out; seen when she uses her spear to tear her suit in Episode 8.
- Weapon summoning: Vaggi seemingly possesses the ability to summon her weapons at any given time, as shown in "Hello Rosie!" when she was able to pull her angelic spear out of nowhere to fight Carmilla despite showing no signs of it being on her person.
- Musical talent - While Vaggi normally has a low and hard voice, her singing voice is soft and emotional.
- Enhanced Reflexes - Vaggi appears to be the only Exorcist with consistently strong reaction capabilities. Exorcists in general have shown little ability to dodge or defend against attacks—examples include one noticing Cherri Bomb throwing an explosive but not moving, another getting blasted in the face by Charlie’ssparkle blast despite Charlie having far less combat experience than a typical Exorcist, several being hit by Husk’s cards, and many being easily impaled by Vaggi herself in “The Show Must Go On.” Vaggi, however, is a clear exception: in the final battle of Season 1, she reacts to incoming Exorcists mid-flight, stabbing them the moment they get close. In her fight with Lute, she even stops Lute’s sword by catching the blade between her hands before throwing her back, with Lute only avoiding a crash due to her wings. Moments later, Vaggi ducks under a charging sword swipe, flips Lute over when Lute tries to force her to stab herself with a pottery shard, blocks another charging strike with her wrist guard, and immediately sidesteps a thrust from Lute both right after being kicked into a wall. Despite Lute being more skilled overall and seemingly faster—evidenced by her ability to overwhelm Vaggi without taking serious damage—she still lacks refined reaction speed, as she is repeatedly caught off guard: flipped onto her back, struck with a radio while slamming Vaggi's head into a table, and even disarmed of Vaggi’s spear while standing triumphantly above her, all before managing to impale Vaggi’s hand with that same spear. Another example comes from the Exorcist who attempted to kill the overlord Carmila Carmine; despite attacking first, she was unable to react to Carmila descending from a much higher position and was decapitated instantly—whereas Vaggi, even though she couldn’t block Carmila’s knee strike during training, was still able to summon her spear while Carmila was dropping down from a shorter height. Before her fight with Lute, Vaggi also manages to pull Charlie out of the path of Adam’s holy-light projectiles, even though the two had been knocked off their feet just seconds earlier by that same attack.
Weaponry[]
- Throwing Daggers: Vaggi has throwing Daggers in her possession, although whether she has the power to summon them or she just keeps them on her is unclear.
- Angelic Spear: Vaggi possesses a harpoon for self defense and carries it around with her once Alastor appears as a threatening presence at the hotel.
Biography[]
Past[]
Little is known about Vaggi's past. It's currently unknown if Vaggi was a Heavenborn angel who never experienced life on Earth, or a Winner who ascended to Heaven. At some point she became an Exorcist, an angel in charge of slaughtering demons every year to deal with Hell's overpopulation. During one of the Exterminations, she followed a hellborn sinner who was trying to escape her in an alley, but when she caught him she didn’t have the heart to kill him as he was a helpless child. So she decided to spare his life. Unfortunately this caused her fellow exorcist, Lute, who had seen the whole thing, to cut out Vaggi's left eye, rip off her wings, and left her in Hell to die in the same alley, before walking off with Adam. Vaggi would reveal that such moment was the last straw in the eyes of Lute and Adam; Exorcists were meant to be emotionless killing machines and therefore having a sliver of empathy was deemed a major taboo.
Some time after being left in Hell & barely making it to another alley, Vaggi met the cheerful & kind princess of hell herself Charlie Morningstar, who bandaged over her missing eye and helped her, but kept her exorcist history a secret. After that, Vaggi and Charlie became really good friends for a while and in a natural progression mutual feelings developed between them, and their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship where they became a couple, with Vaggi becoming extremely protective of her. Vaggi would later help Charlie found Happy Hotel, a Hotel she runs in order to rehabilitate sinners as a much safer way to deal with the overpopulation problem, despite her doubts and would later meet Angel Dust who Vaggi had an antagonistic relationship with due to his reckless behavior.
She and Charlie would later meet Alastor who Vaggi is fearful of and tries to warn Charlie that making a deal with him will jeopardize the Hotel. But Charlie convinces Vaggi that Alastor's help would be beneficial for the hotel so Vaggi relents. During which after Alastor has dealt with Sir Pentious when he tried attacking the hotel, in the ending of the pilot Charlie smiles and goes back inside the hotel with Vaggi smiling back, but still doubts if this partnership with Alastor would work, especially when he changes the Hotel's title from "HAPPY" to "HAZBIN Hotel".
Season 1[]
In "Overture", a week after Alastor came to "help" them, Vaggi hears Charlie read the story of how hell came to be to herself & comforts her before bringing her down for both of them to see Alastor's latest "project" for the hotel. After coming down & watching the "commercial" he made, Vaggi critizes him for making it in the form of mockery instead of helping, which has everyone else suggesting other ways to promote the Hotel which slightly drives her a bit crazy all while Charlie is busy in a call.
Eventually, she gets called into a corner with her completely-excited girlfriend (which freaks her out) because she believes she found the perfect way to promote her Hotel: her dad just called her & says that he was originally scheduled to meet the leader of the Exorcists but asked Charlie to go in her place. This meeting makes Vaggi really worried because the extermination just happened & wonders what Heaven has to say, but Charlie, being to excited to think about it, hurries out of the hotel & sings (much to Vaggi's annoyance) all the way to the bell tower that schedules the exterminations, leaving her in charge of everyone else.
Knowing that the Hotel needs a better commercial, Vaggi has the others prepare a new one she decides to film herself, which she finds out is a lot easier said than done when Angel constantly makes porn jokes with the hotel's bartender Husk, the latter on whom is a terrible actor while Niffty, the hotel's maid, completely freezes over when she's on the screen. After a frustrating hour of a failed filming, Vaggi is approached by Alastor which prompts her to film him out of anger, but quickly discovers why he left himself out of the previous one when the camera she's holding literally breaks apart at the sight of him (he says that because he used to be radio host when he was alive, [his] face is made for radio), though after some convincing, Vaggi is able to get Alastor to help film the commercial his way which is actually successful.
When a sad Charlie returns to the Hotel (having learned that the Exorcists are complete a**holes & enjoy killing sinners), an excited Vaggi is all but eager to show her the new commercial which slowly lifts her spirit, but it's gets interrupted in the last minute where they all (minus Charlie who heard the whole thing during her meeting) shocked to learn that the exorcists have moved up the next extermination in 6 months. Though what anyone in hell really knows at the moment is that the reason it was moved up is because they had discovered one of them have actually been killed which is something that hasn't been done in years, which would give the Hotel residents a big advantage much later.
In "Radio Killed the Video Star", Vaggi calms Charlie down after she starts panicking over the new extermination deadline, which she also helps by adding the fact that with everyone now in panic, sinners will probably do anything to avoid being killed, including to try & enter the hotel which prompts her & Charlie to get more guests. However, just as they finished talking about it they are once again attacked by Sir Pentious who is attempting to destroy Alastor for revenge, but latter quickly beats him up & sends him flying, which prompts Vaggi to get him to have part of the hotel rebuilt before he heads off to the tailor.
A little while later after going out to find more guests for their hotel, the hellish couple return back unsuccessfully without a single new recruit coming to join them, which Angel points out that no one would rather spend their days in the hotel & instead choose to remain their own ways. Suddenly they hear a knock on the door & when Vaggi answers it, she soon discovers that it's once again sir Pentious & attacks him, but to her surprise sir Pentious claims he's come to "stay" at the hotel & while skeptical, she agrees with her girlfriend to let him stay, thinking he's weak now that he's without his gadgets.
Later that night, her suspicions about Pentious proves to be true when Angel catches him calling Alastor's longtime rival Vox, & when she & Angel knock him out a depressed Pentious allows them to kill thinking he's got nothing left to lose. Though while Vaggi & Angel are willing to do his wish Charlie, who heard the whole thing, forgives him for it which prompts a thankful Pentious to stay at the hotel for real, something which the latter two eventually agree to.
In "Scrambled Eggs", after Pentious' decision to stay at the hotel full-time, Vaggi is still-slightly distrustful with him, which is proven correct when he orders a bunch of weapons, which prompts her to get him to get rid of everything he had purchased on her girlfriend's behalf. But when she orders him to get rid of his minions he relents, but her reminding him it's part of his path to redemption he ultimately does so, but wanting it's got to be done in a calm way, Vaggi orders Alastor to take them out, which he does so as he goes of to do something.
After Alastor & pentious' minions head out Charlie, noticing distrust amongst the rest of the residence, decides to begin the hotel's "rehabilitation" track by having them do trust exercises & despite her discomfort, Charlie lets Vaggi take the lead on this exercise. However as soon as she gets her girlfriend's approval in this, Vaggi goes full-on drill sergeant nasty on everyone as they start it off with trust exercises which doesn't go smoothy as she & Charlie had originally thought, so the pair decide to take the exercise somewhere else.
They at first head to a place where Angel suggests: a BDSM sex dungeon, but once everyone (especially her due to other demons hitting on her girlfriend) finds it to uncomfortable, Vaggi decides to take them to a place where she learned to trust people. That said "place", much to Charlie's complete outrage & disapproval, being an intense battlezone where she then ferociously throws everyone except her girlfriend into the heat of battle, causing her to get into a brief argument with Charlie over her "trust" methods, in which she admits she's having trouble herself, & after everyone heads back to the hotel, she stays behind to reflect on her new life (especially with her past as an exorcist) with Charlie.
Afterwards, a calmed-down Vaggi heads back to the Hotel to apologize to Charlie for her earlier actions, but when she arrives she is shocked to learn that not only has Charlie already forgiven her, but also that the Hotel residence have become more trustful of each other thanks to her efforts. With that said & done, Vaggi, also now more trustful with Pentious, allows him to keep his minions around the hotel full-time as well.
In "Masquerade", after growing annoyed with Angel's latest porn movie as his contribution for the hotel's "show-and-tell day", Angel rushes to the porn studio where he works when he gets a call from his boss but despite Charlie begging him to finish his exercises but he says he can't & leaves. When Charlie wonders what is she even doing wrong, Vaggi explains to her that she barely uses the power that comes with her title as Princess of Hell (which she loves about her) & tries to convince to at least command more respect, but when Charlie complains that it's "so mean", Vaggi assures her that it can be seen as aggressive kindness, which is enough for Charlie to try & do.
Later that day, after Charlie's attempt to change Angel's boss' mind goes disastrous & leaves Angel furious at her, Vaggi & her girlfriend overhear Angel getting even more angry when Husk taunts him for being a phony & bursts out to head somewhere else, prompting her to ask him about it. Knowing he needs someone to talk to about his problems (as well as knowing he's not in the mood to talk to Charlie at the moment), Vaggi orders Husk to go find him, something he reluctantly does.
Afterwards after Angel & Husk return to the hotel now on good terms with each other & the former both forgives & thanks Charlie for caring about him, Vaggi is handed a now tearful Charlie by Angel (having also accepted the fact that she owns Charlie after everything they've been through) & she happily carries her blubbering girlfriend all the way back to their room to tuck her into bed.
In "Dad beat Dad", after spending five months of getting to know their guests, Vaggi wakes up one morning to find Charlie completely freaking-out after realizing her "redemption plan" isn't working especially with the extermination coming fast, which makes Vaggi suggests she do her most desperate move yet: ask her dad Lucifer (being hell's head honcho) for help. This makes her girlfriend sulk in even more depression because she blames him for letting heaven do what they do in the first place, but this gives her the idea of letting him schedule her with another meeting with heaven, but when Vaggi brings up the fact that already happened, Charlie says she actually meant with the one in charge of heaven in hopes the higher-ups their will be willing to listen to her.
Though once Charlie begins calling him, she has a hard time trying to explain herself and her hotel because she hasn't called him in years, but when Vaggi takes her hand into her own Charlie is able to calm down and explain herself more thoroughly & even begs her dad to at least see the hotel for himself. Although Lucifer (who went into an absolutely depressive state ever since his wife & Charlie's split), took this as his daughter's plea for his help as an invitation & says he's coming there in an hour, nevertheless Vaggi and the others do their best to prepare for the "big man's" arrival.
After doing their best preparing for Lucifer's arrival, Vaggi & co. find it quite surprising when they see firsthand that Charlie actually got her quirks & personality from him as well as seeing he's quite shorter than most of them, but find him trying his best to at least trying to be a great father to him including even being very welcoming to Vaggi's relationship with her daughter. But things almost get intense when Alastor gets into an instant rivalry with him but is fortunately put on hold when an old acquaintance of the former named Mimzy shows up which gives both Vaggi & Charlie time to tour him around the hotel.
After Vaggi wraps up the tour on how they plan to have the hotel help sinners ascend to heaven, Lucifer then reveals his doubts with it & even views them as pretty much pointless to help & ruin everything, something which is proven true when a gang of literal loan sharks attack the hotel to get Mimzy, & although Vaggi prepares to attack them, Alastor steps up defeats them with ease & sends Mimzy packing. Although her dad uses the attack to prove his point, Charlie still holds strong in her dreams & begs her dad to answer why he won't do it, to which he reveals that he tried to stop the exterminations but failed & just doesn't want to her to be crushed by them like he was, but after a soft confirmation from Charlie, Lucifer finally decides to get her that meeting, he just won't be with her when it comes.
Now with the chance to finally prove to heaven that demons can change, Vaggi expresses complete congratulations to Charlie, but this quickly fades away when she learns that her girlfriend intends to bring her along for her trip. This news leaves Vaggi slightly scared because it's gonna be the first time in a long time that she's going to have to face her exorcist past & is scared with the fact that Charlie might actually figure out her past.
In "Welcome to Heaven", while her girlfriend packs for their trip to paradise, Vaggi tries to come up with excuses to stay behind so she doesn't find out the truth, but Charlie insists that she needs her by her side for her meeting, something which she finally agrees to. But before they head to heaven, Charlie allows the others to go out for a night of fun with Angel & his best friend Cherri Bomb just as a portal opens up behind them, which the couple walk through as they appear on the road and right in front of the golden gates to heaven.
After arriving at the gates, the pair are greeted by it's gatekeeper St. Peter before being greeted by Sera the head Seraphim & Heaven's guardian as well as her assistant Emily who Charlie gets along with almost immediately (which slightly gives off Vaggi's jealous side), as they all tour down Heaven's capital city. After resting at a hotel room & Charlie heads off to a zoo with Emily, Vaggi stays behind before hearing a knock at the door, when she opens it, she is once again confronted by Lute & her ex-boss Adam (& yes he's the 1st man Adam) who at first thinking he's come for Charlie learns that Adam hasn't forgotten about her & is given a deadly ultimatum by him: work for her again & help him shut the hotel down for good or he'll tell Charlie her secret, which absolutely terrifies her.
Arriving in court to see if Charlie's belief of demons being redeemed is true, Vaggi sits by Charlie with Adam acting as the man against her, unfortunately Adam forces her to speed up her defense which makes Charlie fire back against her on how someone goes to heaven, & since he pretty much doesn't know how he got into heaven he makes an extremely short list & hands it to Vaggi. When she reads it all it says is "Don't steal, act selfless, stick it to the man", which she finds quite annoying, nevertheless Charlie shows Angel as evidence to prove sinners can change.
When Charlie tries to show Angel try & prove his growth & Adam tries denying it, she gives a question to Vaggi on what she thinks, which prompts her to try leave the court fast only to be stopped by her girlfriend, fortunately Angel is able to do all 3 things on Adam's "list" where he orders drinks for everyone, stops Niffty from stealing, and even stand up to his boss. However, Adam (plainly wanting the exterminations to continue) denies he's worthy of ascending regardless & when Charlie realizes that heaven's leadership doesn't even know how one gets into heaven as well as Adam recklessly reveals the exterminations she (alongside Emily whose been on her side since her arrival) call them out for treating the system as black & white when it's really shades of gray, but when Vaggi thinks it's time to go, Adam coldly decides it's time to tell her, but despite Vaggi begging him not to, Adam heartlessly reveals to her girlfriend that she's an Angel.
Discovering Vaggi is an angel leaves Charlie absolutely heartbroken just as she thought but when she tries to explain her secret to her, Sera (out of fear that Emily could end up like Lucifer), unfairly rules the court in Adam's favor, which leaves them both even more devastated. But things get even more terrible when Adam coldly tells them that when extermination day arrives, he'll come to destroy their hotel first before opening a portal right behind them that forcefully pulls the distraught couple back to hell, although they were at least able to have Emily on their side.
In "Hello Rosie", now that her girlfriend knows about her secret, Vaggi begrudgingly tells the rest of the hotel residence who she really is, but to her surprise they (unlike Charlie) aren't upset that she's an angel but are still worried about the extermination day & she is still worried about Charlie's emotional state at the moment, unbeknownst to her while she was busy revealing her secret to everyone Alastor, seeing Charlie's emotional as his biggest chance with her yet, sneaks into their room. Just as she thought things have settled down, Vaggi notices green vines coming above the room, which makes her realize that Charlie is making a deal with Alastor, but by the time she arrives she realizes she's too late & tries to attack Alastor for it, but a still angry Charlie stops her before she could do it (she is at least relieved that Charlie still owns her soul), Alastor then reveals that Exorcists can be killed & knowing they need an army Charlie, still angry about her never telling her about her past, orders her to find out while she & Alastor head out to get more help.
After the two leave, Vaggi then tells the others about how they now know Exorcists can be killed & that Carmilla Carmine, another Overlord & a weapons dealer was able to do it, and tells everyone that since now that the Exorcists are coming directly at the Hotel, she says that they need to leave know to avoid being killed now, while also softly saying that she & Charlie won't blame them if they do. Racing to Carmilla's home, Vaggi demands that she let her in unless she reveal what she did on Extermination day, which is something she does, walking inside, Vaggi is approached by Carmilla on another floor & tries to explain that they need her help on how to fight Exorcists, but seeing that she needs more than just words, Carmilla attacks her & Vaggi is forced to fight back.
While they are fighting, Vaggi questions why is she even doing this, to which Carmilla reveals she's actually showing her how to fight her kind, which makes her realize she knows she's an Exorcist because of her obvious appearance (something which Charlie didn't realize mainly due to her personality) & continues to listen. Continuing to fight/train with Carmilla, she explains that the key to fighting Angels was in their own way of fighting: they fight like they have nothing to fear, don't bother to wield anything to defend themselves, & all they do is just attack, but when Vaggi asks how to kill them, she simply tells them that since angelic steel is the only thing able to kill demons, it also works the same way on them.
But while she now knows how to fight against the exorcists, Vaggi is told by Carmilla that she could also only be able to stand a chance against the Exorcists just as long as she lets go of the hate she feels inside (that said hate being the one felt towards herself about her past actions) & fights for something that she loves: her love for Charlie. With that mind set, Vaggi lets go of her hate & lets in her love which reawakens her angelic powers & gets her wings back (something which she hasn't been able to grow back in 3 years), now once again confident in herself, Vaggi proclaims that she needs more angelic weapons for the fight, which a proud Carmilla allows her to have for free.
With boatloads of Angelic steel at her disposal, Vaggi brings them all back to the hotel just as she meets Charlie (who spent the whole day trying to recruit an army of cannibals for her cause) face-to-face at the front gates, before she could apologize for keeping her past a secret to her, Charlie, having just gotten help from someone who assured her that her keeping her past secret from her was never something against her, happily gives a souvenir she got from Cannibal town for her, which is enough to melt her heart 'cause it meant she already has forgiven her & happily hugs her for it. After Charlie comments nicely about her newly-regrown wings, the reconciled couple happily return back to the hotel, but to their shock, they happily find that everyone chose to stay & help them fight instead of running away unlike they were originally told to, with Angel proclaiming that their kindness to them is just enough to gain their loyalty, with that said & done, Vaggi & her girlfriend aid in preparing their hotel for the extermination day to arrive.
In "The Show Must Go On", with everything they need to put Adam in his place, Vaggi & co. (alongside Cherri Bomb) make final preparations to prepare the hotel for the extermination tomorrow with her cheering Charlie on during her last-minute speech before the battle & they all share a last-minute drink together. However, once everyone settles in for the night, Vaggi finds Charlie secretly crying over the fact that she's leading everyone to their doom, wanting to cheer her up, Vaggi calmly softly sings to her that she did good in her goal of helping sinners, & when she's calmed down the couple admit they do still love each other & kiss passionately.
Once extermination day arrives, Vaggi & Charlie march right up in the front of their hotel & once a portal to heaven opens up, she leads everyone to battle against the exorcists, fortunately, they pull a big trick on them when Alastor creates a barrier around the hotel to grab more angelic weapons while greatly weakening the ones in the inside. However, Adam takes serious matters and he deliberately destroys the shield & heads off to battle Alastor, while Vaggi keeps the other exorcists away while at least getting her girlfriend to unleash more of her aggressive side on them.
Things take a turn for the worse when Adam, having just sent Alastor running, begins raining holy lights on everyone, which makes Vaggi say they can't move around more unless they take him out, which is something Sir Pentious attempts to do via the laser on his blimp, but because it was taking to long Adam easily destroys him, leaving everyone devastated. Just as Vaggi tries to comfort her girlfriend over the loss, a now-furious Charlie goes full demon & have her bodyguards go full dragons as she & Vaggi mount them to confront Adam directly, Vaggi & Charlie are able to fight past most of the Exorcists but are separated when Lute sends Vaggi crashing down which forces her to fight her on the ground & in the hotel's lobby without her signature spear, just as Lute gains the upper-hand & prepares to kill her, Vaggi sends her crashing into a wall & reveals her wings before sending a pile of rubble crashing down on her, but when (ironically) tempted by Lute to kill her, Vaggi coldly decides to spare her.
However, Vaggi's attention is soon pulled away from her when she hears her girlfriend screaming in agony & flies to the top of the roof to help them, when she arrives she finds Charlie in a struggling fight against Adam but when she tries to save her, she discovers to late that Lute is too devoted in the extermination & had ripped her own arm off and pins her to a wall to stop her from saving Charlie. But just before she is tearfully forced to watch Adam kill her girlfriend, Charlie is saved in the last-minute by Lucifer who sends Adam falling to the ground as Charlie falls into his arms: Although he originally chose to stay out of the exterminations, he had forced Adam to spare Charlie & hellborn demons, but thanks to his own pride it's all the reason for to put the 1st man in his place, afterwards while Lucifer humiliates Adam while flying mid-air, Vaggi is able to get out Lute's grip but when Charlie rushes to aid her Adam completely rips the hotel apart which sends her falling, fortunately she is once again saved by her dad & together they send Adam crashing & beaten-up badly, & while Adam has a full-on breakdown Niffty stabs him in the back & kills him, much to Vaggi's full-on satisfaction.
When a devastated Lute witnesses the whole thing, Vaggi stands by Charlie when she proclaims the battle is all-but-over & due to Adam's stupid decision of attacking her daughter for a petty reason, Lucifer completely orders her to take all the remaining exorcists back to heaven, which is something she angrily does. Despite their valiant effort forces heaven to straight-up cancel extermination day, Vaggi sees that Charlie blames herself for Pentious' due to her inability to get heaven to listen to her, but just as her girlfriend feels like giving up she & the rest (led by Lucifer) inspire her to continue on with her efforts & with her girlfriend's confidence restored, she & the others (alongside a recovered Alastor) restore the hotel to a bigger & grander state than ever before.

Season 2[]
Trivia[]
- Vaggi was supposed to appear in Zoophobia in the Angels and Demons arc alongside Angel Dust as lovers prior to Hazbin Hotel's creation.
- Vaggi is Salvadoran, confirmed by Vivziepop on her Twitter, while her voice actress Stephanie Beatriz is part Argentinian. However, due to her revelation as an Exorcist Angel, this may no longer apply.
- Vaggi is devoted to Charlie likely in part because angels take promises seriously. Love is sacred vow between two people, which explains why Vaggi puts Charlie before herself all the time; even at the cost of her own opinion and safety.
- Her regrown wings are a lighter color, showing Vaggi has embraced love over hatred.
- Vivziepop thinks that Vaggi is probably a night owl.
- Vivziepop considers Vaggi a "neat freak", who is made uncomfortable and stressed out by mess.
- Faustisse stated that Vaggi has big issues with anger.
- Vaggi is described as "a really good dancer", the most skilled of the main cast.
- According to Angel Dust, Vaggi is flat-chested.
- Vaggi was unaware that Angels can be killed or harmed with their own weapons until she went to Carmilla Carmine to know. However, she was injured by Lute with an angelic weapon. This implies that she was actually unaware that demons could harm Angels. It also seems odd that Vaggi wasn't aware of this despite having lost her eye to Lute so she should be aware her kind can be harmed.
- While not officially confirmed, it is widely believed that she is intended as a caricature of Vivziepop, being Salvadoran (at least initially), LGBTQIA+, and wearing the same choker Vivzie has worn in interviews.
- Each of the main characters of Hazbin Hotel appear to be symbolic of one of the seven deadly sins, with Vaggi embodying the sin of wrath. Wrath is anger and disgust towards sin so great that it leads one to sin themselves in their pursuits to seek retribution. This is reflected in Vaggi's short temper and especially her immense hatred towards Adam and his exorcists, particularly Lute, for their bloodlust and sadism, something Carmilla points out will only drag her down if she doesn't learn to repurpose it into something to protect her loved ones rather than let it control her and drive her into malevolence herself.
- According to Adam in "Welcome to Heaven", he states that he was the one that gave her the name. However, it was pronounced (/vædʒiː/), or with a soft "g," named after "the best thing ever", the vagina, which is also a nickname that Angel Dust sometimes calls her by.
- According to Vivziepop, Vaggi is the "most human" character, in terms of her emotional state and her problems, which are more real-world adjacent, involving issues around mental health and inner darkness. This is reflected in her more humanoid design.
- Vaggi's hair and bow flares up whenever she shows strong emotion or anger. It even flows when she explains something serious, like how dangerous Alastor is.
- Vaggi is described as an overly protective person, and someone who desires to be in control of situations. Her overprotectiveness is a strong part of her personality that is referred to as both "justified and not so much" depending on certain situations.
- Throughout the first season there were hints of Vaggi's past as an angel exorcist such as when she gave militaristic orders, telling everyone how she learned to trust people in combat and her unwillingness to visit Heaven even when Charlie wanted her to travel with her.
- Vivziepop compares Vaggi and Charlie's relationship to that of Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
- Vaggi is the top in her relationship with Charlie.
- According to Faustisse, Vaggi is bad at handling kids.
- The episode "New Pentious" shows that Vaggi wants to change her name since Adam named her in a demeaning way.
- For the Hazbin Hotel series, the audition song Stephanie Beatriz sang for Vaggi was "Cry Baby" by Melanie Martinez.
- In a Bluesky post on October 13, 2025, Vivziepop explained that, in season 1, the intention was to try imply that Vaggi knew angels could hurt her, but Heaven was "too self focused" to realize their own rules could apply broadly and be used against them as well. This explains why Vaggi was surprised and said she didn't know angels could be harmed in "Hello Rosie!", as it was meant to be implied that she didn't know demons specifically could harm angels, especially by their own weapons.
- Vaggi removing the "e" from her name when she renamed herself could be symbolic of leaving behind her past as an Exorcist angel.
- Vivziepop had stated in a Collider Interview that the characters she feels are the most like her are Charlie and Vaggi, and feels that Vaggie represents the Anger she has, since when she first made her she was a very temperamental character like she is and that every aspect charlie doesnt have is in Vaggi who has a "fighter energy" to her and is not afraid to get angry and Expressive and be the one to ask "Am I the only sane person in the room?" and Vivziepop had that Experience.
