~ Val-Yor revealing his racist nature to Starfire. |
Val-Yor is a minor character/anti-hero in the 2003 animated series Teen Titans, appearing in the episode of "Troq". And just like Starfire, Val-Yor is a alien from a different planet that met the Teen Titans on earth to get help.
He was voiced by Stephen Root.
Physical Appearance[]
Val-Yor's appearance resembles (and is possibly based on) Captain Atom, he is a tall and muscular man that has a body structure that is colored as mirror silver. He has a very broad chest that has a small dark blue star in the middle of it. His torso a navy jumpsuit that goes all the way to half of his calves.
Personality[]
Val-Yor is a friendly alien and even let the Teen Titans help him on the ship. He also gave them each a nickname for them for their work on it, "Spike" for Robin, "Champ" for Beast Boy, "Metal Butt" for Cyborg, "Sunshine" for Raven, and "Troq" (also known a racist name for Tamaraneans) for Starfire. However, his friendly personality was just a mask, because after he revealed his hatred towards Tamaraneans, he has shown that his true nature to other beings are racist, arrogant, and churlish. And as of evidenced by some scenes of the episode, he even tried to kill Starfire as well. As a result, even after he was rescued by Starfire, he still didn't show any respect to her that he evened called the other members troqs too. Despite this, he secretly smiled at Starfire thankfully for saving him during the end of the episode.
Trivia[]
- It's possible that Tamaraneans are not the only aliens that he and his beings dislike.
- He is the only heroic character who is considered a Hate Sink.
