Valorem Gadriel is a one of the deuteragonists of the 2024 grimdark third-person shooter game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. He is a Primaris Marine of the Ultramarines Chapter who fought alongside Lieutenant Demetrian Titus and Meduras Chairon against an invasion of both Tyranids and the Thousand Sons into the Recidious Sector of the Imperium of Man. While originally suspicious and untrusting of Titus similar to Leandros, unlike him Gadriel comes to fully trust and accept Titus as his commander and brother in arms.

Valorem Gadriel was born to a noble family near the end of the 41st millennium on the world of Talassar in Ultramar, home of the Ultramarines Chapter and the only island of relative stability and reason in the crumbling Imperium of Man. Despite his elite status, Gadriel left his family at ten years old to make a solo pilgrimage to the Ultramarines fortress of Castra Tanagra, securing him a place in the Ultramarines Aspirant trials.
Passing his tests, Gadriel became a Neophyte of the Ultramarines, and eventually ascended to a Primaris Astartes, a transhuman warrior better known as a Space Marine. Assigned to the Ultramarines 6th Company, Gadriel's unrelenting will got him noticed by 2nd Company captain Sevastus Acheran, who offered Gadriel a spot in the illustrious company in spite of Gadriel's inexperience. Accepting it, Gadriel joined the 2nd Company and quickly rose the ranks to sergeant, where he served in the wars of the Era Indomitus against the tide of Chaos and xeno threats. He was given command of his own squad, including Brother Meduras Chairon, a first-generation Primaris Marine who became a close friend of Gadriel.
By the time of the Recidious Campaign, Gadriel had served for less than 50 years, and at some point, he had a head injury treated with cranial cybernetics.
