Vermeil also known as the Devil of Disaster, is the titular main female protagonist of Vermeil in Gold. She is Alto Goldfield's familiar who was released by Alto in a grimoire.
She was voiced by Mayaa Uchida (who is known of voicing Kaguya Yamai in Date A Live) in Japanese and Monica Rial in English.
Overview[]
Vermeil is a devil who appears to be a succubus type (unknown if she is one) and the most powerful one. She is widely considered to be the most powerful of all devils. Many years ago, she was imprisoned into a book by her closest friend, Fatema just so she will find someone to bring her happiness after she destroyed her hometown and murdered humans who killed her foster family due to them has persecuted her as humanity's sworn enemy and deludedly believes the devils are evil, revealing it was never her friend's betrayal due to Fatema's death. 550 years later, she was released and summoned by a second year student, Alto Goldfield as his familiar as well his lover. She ended up being a lustful, lecherous and naughty pervert when she sexually teased Alto even when she sleeps with him while she is nude.
She will help her newly master Alto to become the greatest mage in the world. After her identity as a devil being revealed to the student council by Alto due to Obsidian's betrayal towards the academy, this made Alto to become a member of the student council.
Appearance[]
Vermeil is very tall woman with a shoulder-length violent hair. As a devil, she has horns, pointy ears and a devil-like tail. She worn a black one piece dress until her dress was destroyed after she was dosed by Obsidian, leaving her naked when she reverted back to herself. After defeating Obsidian, she worn a school uniform for girls since her first dress was destroyed though the white shirt doesn't close the upper front buttons due to the weight and size of her oversized breasts, unable to buttoning her shirt this was until her second identical dress has arrived by Alto's sister.
In her true form after being dosed by Alto's treacherous formerly mentor, Obsidian, she has black wings, 6 ears, goat-like legs, larger horns, claws and fangs.
When she was child, her hair is a bit shorter. She worn a pink dress and two white bows to cover her horns. Her horns are smaller than in her current appearance.
Personality[]
Vermeil is a naughty, easy-going and obsessive pervert when she seduced her newly master, Alto as far kissing him to drain his mana. She is very optimist when she showers with Alto, changing into the boys' room and later kissing the sleeping Alto while she is naked. She developed her romantic feelings for Alto when she loves him deeply as far protecting her master.
She has a love rivalry with Lilia Kudelfeyt who is Alto Goldfield's childhood friend who also has a romantic feelings for Alto. She shown sadistic when she grinned towards Lilia after she easily defeated her familiar.
After being dosed by Obsidian (Alto's treacherous mentor), Vermeil became enraged but cannot be controlled by Obsidian for being weak and unworthy, due to her loyalty to Alto and strong willpower until Alto himself saved her and reverted her to original self.
Before freeing from Iolite's magic, Vermeil became remorseful and guilty when she revealed to Alto that she murdered humans from her hometown and brought destruction upon her hometown due to her being hated and persecuted by the residents (who foolishly believed that devils are humanity's swore enemies and considered her to be evil (which Fatema, Alto and Lilia refused to believe such a thing)) which is the reason she ended up being a misanthropic devil who was considered to be a monster that should be alone.
Abilities and Powers[]
- Immense magic powers: Widely known as the most powerful of all devils, Vermeil has immense magical powers when it demonstrated as she destroyed an entire city and its filthy inhabitants (men, women and kids that believed that Devils are evil and the sworn enemies of humanity (which is nothing but a delusional belief)) after the deaths of her friends and foster family 550 years ago.
- Indomitable will: Vermeil has an undetermined willpower strong enough to resist from being brainwashed due to her loyalty to Alto. She resisted and destroyed Obsidian's brainwashing chains.
- Mana absorption: Vermeil has the ability to absorb Mana by kissing when she always kissed Alto to drain of his mana.
- Superhuman strength: Vermeil is immensely powerful, able to send creatures several times her size flying hundreds of feet with flick of her finger and she gets progressively stronger depending on how far her demon form transformation progresses. She easily defeated the empowered-still-weak Obsidian even he gained power from the dose of low ranking devils who are inferior to Vermeil. Even as a child, she destroyed her hometown and its filthy inhabitants (men, women and kids alike) who persecuted and hated her for being a devil, as well these filthy residents has killed her friends and foster family.
- Longevity: Vermeil was a child 550 years ago after she destroyed the city and its filthy inhabitants for murdering her friends and foster family. Remarks from Alto indicate demons may live in excess of a thousand years. However, her life is currently tied to Alto’s.
- Demonic form: In her true form after being dosed by Alto's treacherous former mentor, Obsidian, she has black wings, 6 ears, goat-like legs, larger horns, claws and fangs. She only transforms when she went berserk even when she was a child after the deaths of her friends and foster family.
- Shapeshift: She has the ability to shapeshift herself into a human by turning her horns and tail invisible with magic. When she was hit by Lilia (who is criticizing her), her horns and tail comes out.
