Viggo Grimborn is the central antagonist of Dragons: Race to the Edge, serving as an unseen antagonist in season 1, the main antagonist of Seasons 2 to 4, the secondary antagonist of season 5 and a major anti-hero in season 6.
He is the younger brother of Ryker Grimborn and the genius chieftain of the Dragon Hunters, who wants to obtain the Dragon Eye and wipe out dragon kind to sell them. He is one of Hiccup's former archenemies, alongside Dagur the Deranged.
Viggo is the leader of the dragon hunters. He hunts dragons just for profit. He even attempted to hunt a Buffalord, enslave Catastrophic Quakens, kidnapped an Eruptodon, chained a Submaripper and used a Shellfire as a destructive weapon.
Later, when Hiccup holds the Dragon Eye, Viggo told him to give it to him, but Hiccup threw it to the volcano and Viggo also fall there.
It was revealed that Viggo survived the fall and he even teamed up with Johann and Krogan.
During His Redemption
When Johann and Krogan left me for dead, a Monstrous Nightmare saved me. I spent my whole life hunting dragons, killing them. And I've come to respect them as equals. You taught me that, Hiccup. That's the final irony, I suppose.
Viggo got rejected by Johann and Krogan and they attempted to kill him, but he survived. He asked help from Hiccup in order to defeat them. He went with Hiccup to the mountains to use a Skrill Dragon to distract the Dragon Flyers. When that happened, Hiccup got the Dragon Eye and Viggo sacrificed himself in order for Hiccup to escape.
Viggo appeared wearing an ancient attire with spiky shoulder guards and spiky belt. He also has black hair and beard. During the time after he survived the fall in the volcano, he had a scar on the lest side of his face and his left eye is blind.
He lives in the shadows. Everyone's afraid of him, even Ryker.
Viggo is a cruel type, who does not accept failures. He excecutes his followers who faild him or did not give permission. He also hates taking orders from others.
After his redemption, he became kinder, since he was even willing to sacrifice himself for Hiccup.
