Villads is a supporting protagonist in the Netflix TV Show The Dragon Prince. He is a former pirate, who became a captain for-hire. He is the captain of the ship named The Ruthless, who is named after his beloved wife Ruth, who doesn't like sailing, so he spends his time sailing with his parrot named Berto.
He is voiced by Peter Kelamis.
Biography[]
Villads was an uccessful pirate, who lost both of his eyes, the left one was by a seagull attack and lost his other eye from unknown circunstances, only that the attacker came from his left. He would marry a woman named Ruth, and would make a boat he called The Ruthless, but she refused to use it due to her disliking sailing.
Villads would later became a captain for-hire and started searching for cargo and passengers. Due to his blindness, Callum and Ezran payed him to bring them close to Xadia by boat with Rayla, since he wouldn't be able to see if she was an elf or not.
During the travel, there was a storm, and Villads decides to dock the ship and wait until it was over. After the storm was over, Villads would talk to Rayla and aksed her why she was called that, and she aswered that her parents had an unusual taste in names, with Villads understanding it and saying that it was a fair case. He then asked what she did, with Rayla telling him that she was supposed to be an assassin, but she never killed anyone, and Villads told her to not give up on her dreams.
Villads would then tell Rayla that she could choose her own path after she told him that she didn't want to be an assassin, saying that life was like the river, and that it was impossible to predict what their path in life would lead to.
Rayla then thanked him for his advice, but he fell asleep before he could hear Rayla's response. Villads then brought Team Zym to a place close to Xadia, and decided to gather Team Zym so they could watch the bat arrive on shore before they left. Villads would also later appear as an halucination in his dream after he used dark magic to save Rayla and Pyrrah.
Two years later, he would make a bet with a game of dice with the skywing elf Nyx, who wanted to take over the Ruthless. The bet ended on Nyx winning, although it's implied that Nyx cheated on the dice game given how Villads and Berto described it. Regardless, Nyx became the ship's "comodore".
Villads would later decide to spread his business throught Xadia after the border to Xadia was opened due to the new made alliance between Xaida and the Human Kingdoms. One day, he would meet with Team Zym again, whom he woud help get to the Sea of the Castout to stop Aaravos from being freed.
During this, the group was captured by the pirate lord Finnegrin, but ended up getting freed after Soren was able to convince Finnegrin's bodyguard Elmer to stand up to Finnegrin. Villads would then bring Team Zym to the Sea of the Castout, where they would get the pearl that cointained Aaravos' prison and defeated Claudia.

- Villads suffers from narcolepsy and because of it he falls asleep in random moments of the story.
