Violet is the eldest sibling of the Baudelaire orphans in the thirteen book series "A Series of Unfortunate Events,". She has a love for inventing, and when she invents she ties her hair up in a riboon, so as not to distract her. She is very devoted to her brother and sister and intelligent, as shown by her love for inventing.

In the movie, she is portrayed by Emily Browning.
