Violetta Tini Castillo is the titular main protagonist of the Disney Channel Latin-American series Violetta and its 2016 standalone film Tini: The New Life of Violetta. She's the 17 year-old daughter of millionaire architect German Castillo and his late wife Maria Samego. She's a student at Studio On Beat (formerly Studio 21) and is determined to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer just like her mother.

She is portrayed by Martina Stoessel, who also played herself in Soy Luna and voiced Moxy in the Latin dub of UglyDolls.

Personality[]

Violetta is a very bright, talented, kind girl. When she first came to Studio 21, she is shy and reserved. However, she soon discovers her true passion and talent for music which allows her to gain more confidence. Through this, she becomes clearer to her father and friends. It is with her kind heart that she is always determined to do what's best for the people she cares about.

Violetta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to biollaine architect German Castillo and famous singer Maria Samego. When Violetta was 5, her mother died in a tour bus accident leaving German widowed and having to raise Violetta alone. Fearing that Violetta will suffer the same fate as her mother, German forbids her from singing and takes her away to Spain. At some point, he fell in love with a woman named Jade LaFontaine whom Violetta despises for trying to replace her mother.

Season 1[]

When Violetta turned 17, German brought her back to Buenos Aires to start her education. He hires a tutor for Violetta named Angie Carrara, who unbeknownst to them is secretly Maria's sister and by extention Violetta's aunt and German's sister-in-law. Violetta develops a crush on a delivery boy named Tomas Heredia. When Tomas is making a delivery to a music school called Studio 21, Violetta follows him and finds out that Angie also works there as a music teacher. Violetta joins the Studio against her father's wishes while keeping it a secret from him so he doesn't stop her. She makes lots of new friends there and starts dating Leon, but is also rivaled with Ludmila Ferro.

Jade and her brother Matias move in to the Castillo house after going bankrupt. German eventually proposes to Jade, which angers Violetta knowing that Jade doesn't truly love her or her father and is planning to send Violetta to boarding school after marrying German. Violetta finally learns that Angie is her aunt after Ludmila indirectly revealed it to her through a video. Although upset at first about being lied to, Violetta is eventually happy to learn she has an aunt and grandmother. Unfortunately, Jade finds out about their relationship and tells German causing him to angrily fire Angie. He then finds about Violetta attending the Studio too and becomes so angry he decides to takes her away again to Qatar, but after hearing Violetta sing he finally learns to accept her passion and lets her stay. He also breaks off his engagement with Jade at the altar after realizing he's in love with Angie.

Season 2[]

After summer vacation, Violetta returns to the Studio (now renamed Studio On Beat) for a new school year. However, Violetta becomes annoyed by a new student named Diego Hernandez, who has a crush on her and is threatening her relationship with Leon. Fortunately, she learns to accept Diego as a friend and even falls in love with him after Leon dumped her out of jealousy. They start dating and Violetta tries to help Diego find his estranged father, who eventually turned out to be Gregorio.

German starts spying on Violetta by disguising as a new teacher at the Studio named Jeremiah. When Angie finds out Herman is Jeremiah, she sadly leaves the Studio to pursue a music career in France. German eventually quits out of guilt, but Violetta finds out anyway straining their relationship.

Near the end of the school year Violetta, Leon, Diego and Francesca travel to Spain for a live duet competition. Just before going onstage, Violetta finds out Diego was secretly working with Ludmila to make her leave the Studio. She sadly breaks up with Diego and is about to be humiliated onstage, but Leon saves her by singing with her and they get back together.

Season 3[]

The students of the Studio spend the summer on a world tour with YouMIx. During their final stop at Barcelona, Leon breaks up with Violetta out of jealousy of her new friendship with Clemen Galan, the son of a hotel owner who's against his son's passion for music. When they return home, Violetta finds out her father is dating Ludmila's mother, Priscila. She and Ludmila are forced to live together and are at odds with each other. It gets even worse that they ended up becoming stepsisters when their parents get married. However, Priscila eventually turned out to be worse than Jade and is a cruel mother to Ludmila. She even pushes Violetta down the stairs, causing German to eventually divorce her. When Angie comes back from France, German realizes he's still in love with her and they get married.
