Vitania is a supporting character in the AMC Series Into the Badlands.
She is one of the only healers in the Badlands, working out of the refugee camp that was set up during the war for the Badlands between the Widow and Baron Chau. She primarily works with Tilda and Lydia, who fight to protect the refugees that Vitania tends to. She eventually becomes the primary healer for the Widow's territory after Chau's defeat.
She was portrayed by Lachele Carl.
Personality[]
As a healer, Vitania is a very noble individual, but she is also extremely serious, not letting anything get in the way of her work. She initially tries to turn away Sunny when he asks for help, only letting him in when he reveals his infant son Henry is sick. Even then, she is adamant that Sunny let her take care of Henry, and that the best thing he can do is go and get himself fed while she tends to Henry. Similarly, she tends to not let anyone oversee her work, as she does not let Nathaniel Moon into the room where she is treating Lydia due to his erratic state. She is also seen laughing when she finds out when she does a test that reveals the Widow is pregnant, although this is likely a result of her disliking the Widow due to her being the result of the war that left so many sick and injured. That being said, she isn't abrasive to anyone, as she promises to keep the news of the the Widow's pregnancy a secret.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Healing: Vitania is shown to be one of the few capable healers left in the Badlands, and the primary healer that people go to after the death of Veil. She was the primary doctor for the war refugees during the war for the Badlands, and even managed to temporarily soothe Henry's sickness that was brought on by the Gift. The height of her skill was shown when she saved Lydia's life after she was shot in the gut with an arrow, an injury typically considered unfixable in the Badlands.
Trivia[]
- The method by which Vitania confirms the Widow is pregnant seems to involve the usage of some sort of plant, possible wheat or barley seeds. This method of pregnancy detection can be traced back to 1350 BCE in Ancient Egypt.
