Wallace (known as Spot in non-English dubs) is a tritagonist of Puppy in My Pocket: Adventures in Pocketville.

He is a male stray mixed breed (Schnauzer and Poodle) dog of the Big City who meets Princess Ava, taking care of her and helping her survive there. After Ava gets kidnapped by the Pet Buster and Wallace is knocked unconscious by said man, he is taken in by Kate’s family and nursed back to health. From there does he help Kate and Magic rescue Princess Ava by spying on the Pet Buster and accompanying the duo on their journey in the Big City.

He is voiced by Paolo de Santis in the Italian dub, Phil Lollar in the first English dub, and Wayne Forester in the later US and UK dubs.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Wallace is a gray wire-haired dog with floppy ears and lilac eyes. He wears a green collar with a brass pocket-shaped name tag.

Personality[]

Being a street smart stray dog, Wallace is very knowledgeable when it comes to navigating the Big City and surviving the alleyways of it. He frequently steals food from unsuspecting people, but does so for the sake of the vulnerable strays’ health.

He is incredibly compassionate and protective towards Ava, helping her survive in the city and protecting her from any potential threat, especially the Pet Buster himself. He also shows a fair amount of bravery when dealing with more intimidating stray dogs and when facing the Pet Buster.

History[]

Wallace first appears in “Don’t Be Afraid,” when Princess Ava walks through an alleyway of the Big City, both tired and ill. Despite his offer to help her, Ava runs off after being startled by him. He meets Ava again in the next episode, warning Ava to not bite into a mushroom as it will make her even sicker. Ava then faints in front of him.

He brings Ava to a safe spot where she can rest and bring her fever down. He would frequently go to human restaurants to steal food behind the backs of people so that Ava can eat, and the feline gradually recovers from her fever. He brings more food to help Ava recover even more, but she turns it down, telling him that she isn’t hungry. She tries to convince him further that she is a real princess from the Pocket Kingdom when he teases her by saying that she’s becoming spoiled. Annoyed by his skeptics, Ava briefly leaves him. As she walks away from Wallace and crosses the street, Wallace spots an incoming car and quickly pushes her to safety. He then tells her that she will have to need guidance in the Big City, even if she is a princess. Ava then convinces Wallace to be her teacher, and he accepts.
