Wang Dora is one of the main protagonists of The Doraemons, a spin-off manga and anime movie special series of Doraemon. He is a kung fu master from China and the smartest of the Doraemons. He also learns medicine in the Qing Dinasty when he works for an assistant of a doctor of Chinese medicine.
He was voiced by Kumiko Nishihara and later Megumi Hayashibara.
Appearance[]
Unlike the rest of the Doraemons, Wang Dora has four whiskers instead of three and his tail is longer. He wears a red kung fu shirt with a fourth dimensional sleeves.
Personality[]
Wang Dora is notable for being the smartest of the Doraemons, able to solve puzzles and even be a detective at times. He relies on strategy to defeat his opponents and as a result often turns the situation in his favor. He loves kung fu and dreams of one day becoming the greatest kung fu master of the world. However, he is unable to stand girls, blushing and squirming whenever seeing them. Despite this, he has a girlfriend, a nurse named Mimiko.
Wang Dora's favorite way of eating dorayaki is with lots of rāyu.
History[]
Wang Dora was one of seven students of the Robot Academy that were considered to be very mischievous and often breaking rules. Initially, they barely knew each other, but one day, Sunekuchi and Jaides suggest Doraemon to find the legendary Friendship Telecards. In truth, they want Doraemon to help them steal gadgets. The task fails and Sunekuchi and Jaides are imprisoned, forcing Doraemon to find a way to rescue them. His girlfriend, Noramyako, introduces Wang Dora, Dora the Kid, Dora-rinho, Dora-nichov, Dora Med III and El Matadora. The seven then successfully rescue Sunekuchi and Jaides.
From that point on, the seven robots become close friends and use the Friendship Telecards to combat the forces of evil. Due to their deeds, Principal Teraodai often provides orders and helps for them from behind the scenes. After graduating, Wang Dora continues to practice kung fu with the ambition to become the greatest kung fu master in the world. Meanwhile, he also works for an assistant of a doctor of Chinese medicine, studying Chinese medicine in the process.
