You will be the first chapter in the Arsenal legend!!! And the legend of me... starts right here!
~ Weisz Steiner

Weisz Steiner is a main character of the anime/manga series Edens Zero. He is an Adventurer and a member of the crew of Edens Zero, as well as their mechanical engineer. He is also a former thief from the Planet Norma and the younger version of Professor Weisz from the year X442.

He is voiced by Hiromichi Tezuka in Japanese and Ray Chase in English.

Personality[]

Weisz first started off as a selfish thief who only cared about himself, and even stealing items that he would think that was worthy of value. Deep down, it is shown that he cares about his friends and is able to help them whenever needed, partially fixing Happy after his was damaged, shows concern for when Rebecca got kidnapped and got sent to the Planet Guilst, and even saving Sister Ivry for when she was being held captive. He also really cares about his mother and wanted revenge on Drakken Joe for killing his mother.

It is shown multiple times that Weisz is perverted by checking out Homura's rear, planning to make Homura wear a bunny girl costume during the Mildian arc when they were picking out their costumes, being highly interested after he heard that Homura had one of Witch's massages, and staring at Rebecca's chest.

He tends to act more of a superhero as Arsenal, making heroic and flashy speeches.

Weisz is also shown to have great intelligence in battle, changing his facial expression to shed fake tears when against Laguna Husert, and then modified the app in real-life to pretend he turned into water. The reason was to watches Laguna fight Homura when he isn't paying attention to him so he can learn Laguna's fight abilities and tactics.

History[]

Born over 60 years ago, Weisz lived with his mother in the planet Norma. At some point, his mother grew gravely ill due to Drakken Joe's life-support device, draining her life span. But at the time it was unknown how she got sick, it was so unknown that the doctors couldn't explain about this sickness. Before she died, she told Weisz to stay strong since she's worried over the fact the Weisz isn't the best at making friends. Weisz cries begging his mother not to die on him. She tells him that he will not be alone since their's another mother, which is the mother to everyone in the cosmos. Due to no treatments of this, she ended up dying, leaving Weisz all alone.

Sometime after his mother's death, he bought a used robot so he can have a friend. This robot knew many things and taught him the Machina Maker Ether Gear for three years. Since he was really good using the Ether Gear at first, he ended up breaking his teacher on accident, making him alone once again.

Years later, he ended up being a theif in Sibir's gang of criminals. He was very good friends with Sibir that he even told him about the pendant his mother gave him, saying that she was an adventurer that went to many planets. Sometime after, the pendant was stolen by someone in the gang, making Weisz accuse that Sibir stolen since he was the only one he told about the pendent. After Sibir denied about stealing since he was the one that didn't steal his pendent, he claims that they are not his crew and that he has no friends. This led Sibir to be angered that he kicked him out of the group. While getting kicked out, he tells Sibir that he will take something he cares about.

Trivia[]

  • While he's still a greedy and womanizing douchebag with a heart of gold, Pocket Galaxy does away with some of his scummier moments, such as trying to sell Shiki's team out to Elsie back when he barely knows them, or shooting up Mosco to show Homura he means business on Guilst (though to be fair, Mosco doesn't show up in said scene). He also chooses to hang out with the crew a little longer before deciding to stick around permanently, instead of ditching them once they return to Blue Garden and coming back.
  • His Overdrive form underwent several last-minute changes between its debut chapter's digital and print release, adding large cables protruding from his back.
