Wells Jaha was a major character of the first season in the CW show, The 100.
He was portrayed by Eli Goree.
Description[]
Wells was the son of Chancellor Jaha and one of the hundred delinquents sent to Earth by the Ark. He was good friends with Clarke and her family and took the blame for the death of Jake, Clarke's father to protect her and cover up for Abby who had actually exposed him. It shows real loyalty on his part even though Clarke had to hate him forever. Unfortunately, his position as the Chancellor's son makes him unpopular on the ground and this is ultimately what leads to his untimely death.
History[]
Wells first appears in the Dropship that descends to Earth, seated alongside Clarke. He is taunted by other teenagers during his father's speech and meets Finn who has come loose from his seat. On the ground, Clarke explains that they have to go to Mount Weather but avoids him when Wells awkwardly mentions his father. As he supports her idea and explains it, the delinquents reject him and John Murphy attempts to fight him and injures his leg. Finn then intervenes and prevents Murphy from attacking him. As Clarke, Finn, Jasper, Octavia, and Monty head to Mount Weather to look for food, Clarke tells Wells that he shouldn't have come.
The latter stays at the camp and is shocked to see Bellamy have the bracelets removed from the delinquents. He interrupts the action by saying that if they remove these bracelets the Ark will believe they are dead and will not descend to Earth to help them survive. Bellamy justifies that on the ground, they have no more orders to follow and that they will do "whatever the hell they want". That same night, Bellamy takes Wells away from the camp and unsuccessfully tries to convince him to remove his bracelet. It is then that he is trapped by Murphy and other teenagers who overpower Wells and take off his bracelet by force.
The next day, Wells bury the corpses of the two offenders who died on the landing and keeps their clothes just in case. As he stops Murphy who was going to torture a girl and fights her, Clarke and his friends warn they are in danger because of Grounders, survivors of the nuclear apocalypse. Wells asks where Jasper is, Clarke telling him he's been harpooned and kidnapped, prompting the small group of teens to rescue him. The mission is successful and Wells kills a panther, saving Bellamy's life.
Jasper being brought back to Camp, Wells analyzes the poultice and he, Clarke and Finn go to look for this algae but must take refuge in a vehicle because of an acid fog. Inside, Clarke confronts Wells about her father's death and her friend has no arguments in his defense. Thanks to Finn reasoning with her and flashbacks in the past, Clarke finds out that her own mother denounced Jake over the oxygen situation on the Ark. She then apologizes to Wells who says he already forgives her and hugs her. During her shift at dawn, Wells chats with Charlotte, who says she has nightmares and that she has found a way to stop them. With Murphy's knife, she sticks the gun in his neck and cuts off his fingers, killing him as she sings softly.
Later, Wells' remains are found and although everyone blames Murphy, Charlotte reveals her crime.
In season two, as Jaha gives up on the idea of descending to Earth, he has a vision of Wells that encourages him to continue his efforts before vanishing.
Trivia[]
