Wesley Wyndam-Pryce is a minor character in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a major protagonist in it's spinoff Angel. He is an Englishmen hired to be Faith Lehane's watcher before being fired by the watcher's council. He then moved to LA and became a private investigator working for Angel.

Wesley was disliked by Buffy and her friends, particularly her watcher Rupert Giles as he was often condescending and they saw him as very incompetent. When Wesley tried to kidnap Faith behind everyone's backs, ruining Angel's attempt to reach out to her and driving her to side with Mayor Wilkins their disdain for him only grew. Wesley had another number of conflicts with the socobies such as when he advocated for allowing Willow Rosenberg to die in order to defeat the Mayor.
Wesley tried to help against the mayor but was knocked out almost immediately. He was dismissed as a watcher due to repeated failures
Wesley tried to be a "rogue demon hunter" and ended up being hired by Angel at Angel Investigations. This was also where he once again met Cordelia Chase, the only one of Buffy's allies who he actually had a good relationship with. Working with Angel gave him purpose and Wesley became very loyal to the point he went against the Watchers to help him protect Faith even though she tortured him.
Wesley became friends with Charles Gunn and even got shot trying to protect him. He also had a number of problems with Angel when he became more ruthless but they resolved things when Angel returned and allowed Wesley to take his place as boss.
When Wesley learned of a prophecy he became convinced Angel would kill his own son Connor and worked with Daniel Holtz to kidnap him to protect the child. Angel tried to kill him in response which devastated Wesley. Wesley later began an intimite affair with evil Wolfram and Hart lawyer Lilah Morgan
Wesley later forced Justine to help him rescue Angel from the bottom of a ocean. Angel was greatful and willing to forgive his old friend but Wesley turned him down and formed his own team to fight evil.
After Angel made a deal with Wolfram and Hart Wesley forgot about his memories of Connor and his betrayal of his friend.
When Angel took over Wolfram and Hart Wesley joined the company as well. He was later forced to kill a robotic version of his father to save Winifred Burke who he had long had feelings for. Wesley was devastated when Fred died and turned to alcohol to cope. Ultimately Wesley was killed by demon sorcerer called Cyrus Vali.
