This cat always land in his paws.
~ Wild

Wild (formerly known as Wild Cat) is a Ginger Tabby Cat who is the first feline member of the PAW Patrol and the leader of the Cat Pack, a recurring character of the Canadian cartoon series PAW Patrol.

He is the first member who isn't a dog. Instead, he is a cat, as "cats have paws too".

He is the fourteenth member overall. He debuted in the Season 7 episode "Moto Pups: Pups vs. the Ruff-Ruff Pack". He has a big rivalry with the Ruff-Ruff Pack. He is the leader of the Cat Pack, a pack devoted to helping the pups by thinking and acting like a cat.

He is voiced by Tristan Mammitzsch in the Canadian and North American versions of the TV series.

Appearance[]

Wild is a sandy brown and white cat wearing a helmet with a gold star and red stripes, a black jacket with red brims, a pup tag with a yellow trim a silver background and a paw with red claws and a paw print. He also has a red collar with white stars on it. His tail has brown stripes and his tail has a white end.

He has a new design as of Season 8, with this new look, he has a brown Mohawk, larger eyes, a smaller nose, a modified chest, and a modified tail. His fur is also brighter in spots, not to mention it no longer blends in around his legs anymore, giving his overall design a more simpler look and his collar is now silver.

In his Cat Pack gear, he wears orange cheetah-styled armor, which comes out of his pup-pack. It grants him super speed when it glows (or, in his case: Cheetah Speed).

Personality[]

He is a confident kitty who's always willing to help out. He loves motorbikes and performing "claw-some" stunts, such as front flips, backflips, and the rather stylish "Triple-Alley-Oop Loop" (which involves three continuous backflips during a long jump). Indeed, his skills are well known, even to the pups, who all greatly anticipated his arrival. Conversely, himself was eager to meet the PAW Patrol, and even told Marshall upon their first meeting that he was a big fan of his (perhaps believing he's clumsy stunts were an act of their own).

Biography[]

He is a member of the PAW Patrol and the only cat member of the team. He joined them after the Ruff-Ruff Pack started to destroy Adventure Bay. Later, after helping them on numerous missions, he teams up with three other felines (Leo, Rory and Shade) to lead a group called the "Cat Pack" (with his outfit during this representing a Cheetah).

Equipment and Abilities[]

Like all of the PAW Patrol pups, he has his own personalized pup-tag which he uses to make calls to Ryder, The Lookout, and the other pups, as well as make video calls to said members. His is customized with a silver background, fish, instead of bones and a red cat paw with a single claw on each digit and a golden border on the outer edge. In Season 8, he has his new pup-tag with a orange background, black cheetah spots and a paw symbol as the other Cat Pack members, though his is orange with a silver outline and the shape of a trapezoid combined with a hexagon. When he pressed, the pack on his back and release his outfit.

Trivia[]

  • Wild is the first cat member of the PAW Patrol.
  • Much like the other members of the team that joined after the original six, Wild does not live with the other pups at the Lookout.
  • When this character first appeared in Season 7, he went by the name "Wild Cat". When he later reappeared in Season 9, his name was changed simply to "Wild" and he now leads a group of felines known as the "Cat Pack".
  • It's revealed that Wild is his name and Wild Cat is his nickname as confirmed in "Moto Pups: Pups vs. the Ruff-Ruff Pack" and his Cat-Pack debut episode.
    • Despite this everyone refers to him as Wild Cat throughout the episode.
    • His reappearance seen him with a new look, too. Refer to the General Info tab (under "Appearance") to learn more about what changed.
  • In the CAT Pack sub-series, Wild is revealed to have friends named Rory, Shade and Leo. Each member is inspired by a type of cat (Lion, Jaguar, Cheetah, and White Tiger), and they each get light-up power suits and unique vehicles. Together, they help out the PAW Patrol with various rescues around Adventure Bay.
  • Wild is the second cat that can speak, with the first being The Copycat.
    • Much like The Copycat, Wild is designed differently from other cats; he's taller, his ears are longer, and he has a skinny tail in contrast to the other cats' fluffy tails. Unlike the Copycat, however, Wild had the ability to speak from the beginning. The Copycat's only able to do so because of a meteor fragment.
    • As expected, the other members of the Cat Pack can also speak.
  • Wild's collar is similar to the fancy one Marshall won in "Pups Save a Lucky Collar".
  • Wild's been a stunt cyclist his whole life. Thus, he is the second PAW Patrol member to have a job before joining the team.
    • The first was Rex, who worked with Taylor Turbot and Dr. Tammy Turbot in the Dino Wilds.
  • Similar to the Kitten Catastrophe Crew, Wild has gear based on the standard PAW Patrol equipment. Unlike them, Wild's came from Ryder in order to help others, as opposed to the Kitten Catastrophe Crew, who received theirs from Mayor Humdinger to cause trouble.
  • Wild's been shown to have a fear of mice, which is also known as Musophobia.
    • He was also scared when he saw Squeak for the first time.
    • Leo was shown to have a similar fear of mice in "Cat Pack/PAW Patrol Rescue: Marshall, Leo and a Ferris Wheel".
  • While watching his season 7 episodes with closed captions, his name is mistakenly spelled "Wildcat" (without the space).
    • The same thing happened on toy packaging and the "Moto Pups" DVD.
      • Oddly, he is still being called Wildcat, but only in promotional and marketing material.
  • On his deluxe motorcycle toy, Wild looks different; he has some dark brown fur, white tail, dark blue eyes, and his nose is darker pink.
  • As expected, Wild's many characteristics are inspired by the typical mannerisms of real cats, such as stretching his paws out often (particularly before mission briefings) and landing on all fours if he happens to fall. As expected, he also loves yarn balls, and he even uses them with his equipment to help during rescues.
  • Wild Cat’s French name is “Chat sauvage”.
