Biography[]
Background[]
Nothing is known of William Calderon's past before becoming a test subject or the events of Black Ops 6.
Project Cradle[]
Around the late 1970s, the secret CIA division Pantheon created "Cradle", a performance enhancing drug presumably made to create super-soldiers. In 1980-1981, trials were started at the Advanced Technologies and Applications facility in eastern Kentucky, and Calderon was the first and only test subject named "Case One". The trials were failure however, with William becoming violent and unstable from exposure and him apparently sabotaging the facility by releasing Cradle. After CIA Deputy Director Daniel Livingstone disbanded the project and Pantheon, Calderon's memories were altered to prevent him from mentioning the project. Despite this, anytime Pantheon or the Cradle were mentioned, he would a female voice inside his head.
After his "rehabilitation", Calderon was trained by the CIA as an assassin and developed a reputation as one of Langley's most dangerous operatives. Additionally, he was given the codename "Case", a reference to his forgotten past as a test subject. During his tenure at the agency, Case worked with CIA operatives Frank Woods, Troy Marshall and Operations Specialist Jane Harrow.
Black Ops 6[]
In 1991, Case, Marshall and Harrow are sent to the Iraq-Kuwait border to extract Iraqi Minister of Defence Sayeed Alwai, whom reveals that he's being hunted by a group named Pantheon. Disobeying orders to wait for backup, the group fight against Pantheon's forces and reach their driver's location. However, Russell Adler comes out of the vehicle and executes Sayeed before giving them a message for Woods - "Bishop takes Rook". Escaping from Kuwait, Livingstone suspends the team for their actions but Woods, Marshall and Case decide to go rogue and have Harrow cover for them. In Bulgaria, they find the Rook - an abandoned KGB safehouse Woods and Adler found during the Cold War.
At the safehouse, the trio learn that Adler contacted freelance assassin Sevati "Sev" Dumas for information Pantheon's ties with a crime family and intended to recruit ex-Stasi Felix Neumann. While Marshall meets with Neumann, Case is sent to Avalon to help Dumas eliminate Guild broker Johannes Essaïdi. Returning to the Rook with Sev and Neumann, the team plan to rescue Adler from a CIA black site underneath Capitol Station. Inside the black site, Case and Marshall rescue Adler but are declared fugitives for Pantheon's attack. Returning to the Rook, Adler explains that Alwai informed him of Pantheon's deals with Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, asking for facilities in the area in exchange of giving him a weapon named "Cradle". Additionally, Alwai gave information on the weapon being tested at Hussein's castle.
Using his connections with MI6 agent Helen Park, Adler, Case and Marshall assist her and the Special Air Service in destroying scud launchers and assaulting the castle. Inside the palace, they find an encrypted disc, the Cradle and a file revealing the weapon was created at a CIA facility in Kentucky. Following the operation, Adler remains in Iraq to find Pantheon scientist Matvey Gusev while Case, Marshall and Sev investigate Advanced Technology and Applications' biotechnology department. Inside the facility, Case is exposed to Cradle and suffers hallucinations of zombies and living mannequins. He is guided by the "Voice" through the building and learns of his past as Pantheon's test subject, but is able to recover when restrained by Marshall and Sev.
Returning to the Rook, Neumann has cracked the disc which reveals Harrow's allegiance to Pantheon and shows a test subject murder someone from the affects of Cradle. Despite Marshall damaging the disc out of anger from the revelation, Neumann is able to fix audio of Gosev mentioning "B24" and "Fucina". Sev then explains that Fucina is a casino owned by the Luttazzi crime family, meaning that Pantheon is associated with them. Deducing that "B24" is a safe number, the team perform a heist with Case surrendering himself to reach the archive room. The team retrieve a dossier from the safe and extract, but are forced to fight against Luttazzi security and Pantheon.
The dossier reveals that the casino is wiring money to Gusev's lab in Iraq and tell Adler, whom later informs the team that the scientist fled to the Kuwaiti International Airport. Despite the setback, Adler contacts his former CIA colleague Lawrence Sims to help him and Case infiltrate the airport and capture Gusev. Once capturing the scientist, he gives them information on Cradle being stationed at the former labor camp Vorkuta. Adler then allows Case to kill Gusev, but is stopped as Sims decides to apprehend the scientist. After Sev sabotages Pantheon's defenses, Case participates in assaulting Vorkuta but learns that Harrow is currently at the labor camp.
Capturing the conspirator for questioning, Adler injects Harrow with a separation truth serum at the Rook to learn of her plans. However, Adler explains that Pantheon has chipped Harrow, leading to the team protecting the safehouse from ground forces while Woods continues the interrogation. During the battle, Woods informs them that Harrow has placed the Cradle at the Capitol Building before Pantheon infiltrate the safehouse and retrieve her. With Harrow preparing to tell Pantheon to release the Cradle on D.C., Case chases Harrow down and the two get into a scuffle inside her helicopter. Managing to bring down the helicopter into the ocean, Calderon is encouraged by the voice to expose himself to Cradle and strangle Harrow to death.
Marshall attempts to contact Case, having informed Livingstone to stop the release of Cradle, but receives no response. After his presumed death, Livingstone assigns Marshall, Woods and Adler as rogue disavowed operatives to put an end to the Pantheon threat.

Trivia[]
- Case is one of the few main protagonists/playable characters to have no dialogue.
- Case's role in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 almost mirrors Bell from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, both are soldiers who are printed with a dark trait to their past, with Bell's mind being erased while Case is a part of a secret project that left him violent. They both shares little to no personality traits in their respective games and both wear a mask to hide their identities. The difference between the two is based on affiliation, with Bell originally being a high-ranking member of Perseus while Case was trained by the CIA following his "rehabilitation".
