Wilykit and Wilykat are the youngest members of the Thundercats team, with the siblings referred to as the Thunderkittens. They were close to Lion-O's age when escaping Thundera before its destruction. However, their suspension capsules aboard the Thunderian Flagship worked and maintained their age while Lion-O's capsule did not, leading to Lion-O growing up, but still maintaining his younger self's uncertainty and confidence as the leader and future Lord of the Thundercats.

Personality[]

WilyKat is the more cautious of the two and he often shows his adventurous sister concern.

Wilykit is a very adventurous young lady, she spends most of her time with her brother Wilykat. The pair of young thunderians are playful and active. She does not go on as many missions as the older thundercats.

Abilities & Weapons[]

WilyKat and Wilykit's primary weapons are the grenade capsules on their belts, containing a variety of chemical, smoke, and incendiary compounds. It is also important to note that she is possibly more skilled with her spaceboard than her brother is with his.

History (1985 TV series)[]

The Thunderkittens are among those members of Thundera nobility that flee in the Thunderian Flagship as it flees Thundera before its destruction in the series pilot, "Exodus". Once Lion-O is awoken to bear witness to the death of his former home planet and is told by Jaga of his future destiny as the Lord of the Thundercats, shortly after he is shown the Sword of Omens and Eye of Thundera, he and the rest of the future Thundercats receive their outfits and weapons they would use for the rest of the series. Then the fleet is attacked by the Mutants, wiping out all the escort ships before attempting to board the flagship. When Slythe, Monkian, and Jackalman confront Lion-O as he tries to defend himself with the Sword of Omens, the activation of the Eye of Thundera with showing the Thundercats logo forces the Mutants to retreat, but their damage to the flagship is considerable. With the auto-pilot severely damaged, Jaga chooses to sacrifice himself to pilot it to a planet with a sustainable atmosphere to ensure the rest of the Thundercats survive the trip. Upon reaching Third Earth, Jaga entrusts the auto-pilot to land the ship while he finally passes on, his body dissolving into dust. Though the flagship crash-lands, the Thunderkittens and the others survive, but soon have to figure out how to survive on Third Earth, especially after seeing that the Mutants followed them, and there's a new enemy who lives on Third Earth in Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living in his Black Pyramid.

With help from locals like the Ro-bears, the Thundercats are soon able to build Cat's Lair to serve as their headquarters and home on Third Earth.

Later, Lion-O has to face the Trials to become Lord of the Thundercats. The Thunderkittens serve as the third trial, the Trial of Cunning, where Lion-O must outsmart them in the Maze of Infinity to pass the trial and move on to face Tygra in the next trial after having bested Panthro and Cheetara in the previous two trials. Though the Thunderkittens nearly get in trouble themselves when they find themselves dangling for dear life over an underground magma flow, Lion-O rescues them with the aid of the local underground dwellers, before all three head for the finish line. However, Lion-O is able to pull one last trick on the Thunderkittens to ensure his victory in the Trial of Cunning. After they entrust him with their Thundercat insignias as proof of completing their trial, they return to Cat's Lair to await with Snarf, Panthro, and Cheetara as Lion-O faces Tygra in the next trial, then his final one, the Trial of Evil, where Lion-O must defeat Mumm-Ra to pass and officially be crowned Lord of the Thundercats. Lion-O succeeds and becomes Lord of the Thundercats, and the Thunderkittens continue to help defend Third Earth with the other Thundercats, including when they get three new members.

They later are able to find a new Thundera to colonize, dubbing it "New Thundera", but even there, they still deal with threats from the likes of the Mutants and Mumm-Ra. After four seasons, the series was able to get conclusions to most plots created throughout the cartoon in the series finale.

History (2011 TV series)[]

In the 2011 revival, Wilykit and Wilykat are revealed to be the oldest of four children of a middle-class family, who lost their father to a terrible tornado the day he was to take their harvest to market, leaving their mom to have to support the family as best she could, despite the hard times that had fallen on them. Upon remembering the stories their father told them of the legendary city of gold, El Dara, Wilykit and Wilykat decided to run away from home and try to find it, knowing the gold there would be more than enough to support their family for the rest of their lives.

However, when they reach the city of Thundera, they are soon reduced to being pickpockets just to survive. When they city is attacked by Mumm-Ra and the Mutants, they are among the few to escape, and join up with Lion-O as he begins his journey to defeat Mumm-Ra and the Mutants while allying with the other intelligent anthropomorphic animals to unite as a joint coalition against the Mutants and Mumm-Ra. The series was cancelled after only one season.
