The Witch Sisters are one of the two deuteragonists (alongside the Ghostly Trio) of the 1998 direct-to-video film Casper Meets Wendy.
They are portrayed by Cathy Moriarty, who portrayed the villianess Carrigan Crittenden in the original 1995 Casper film, the late Shelley Duvall, and Teri Garr.
They are the aunts of Wendy the Good Little Witch and the love interest of the Ghostly Trio.
History[]
The Witch Sisters consist of Gert, Gabby and Fanny and are the estranged aunts of Wendy the Good Little Witch. One morning, after pulling a dirty joke on a local paper boy whom Wendy tried to be friend, they get an unexpected visit by two black suit men who were there to take Wendy to their boss, the wicked Warlock, Desmond Spellman. This prompted them to escape and take refuge in a resort called Sunnyside to lay low, as well as using low level magic, as there high level magic would make there presences known to Desmond's radar, to which they force Wendy to give up her wand as well as have her stay inside to keep out of sight, while they go to the pool.
While relaxing at the pool, Wendy under disguised gave them a brochure to a dance to get a date from men, which fuels there excitement and decided to attended.
Later that night, while trying to look casual, they attended and found themselves attracted to three men. Things seem to go well at first, but something was off about the three men as they couldn't control themselves. They revealed themselves to be three ghost who took procession of these men, which forces the witch to revealed themselves to scare them off.
Wendy and her new friend who happens to be a young ghost name Casper who is the nephew of the three ghosts tried to explained that it was all a set up for them to get along, but the elders wouldn't listen as they attempt to attack one another with Gert getting the upper hand by tricking the ghosts into thinking they will turned them to been bags which forces them to flee.
The witches berate Wendy for hanging out with a ghost as ghosts and witches are natural enemies, but Wendy claims that she would fix it. Later on, when the witches were trying to figure how to deal with the situation as now they have to deal with ghosts in the resorts, the Ghostly Trio surprised them in attempt to get back at them after they found out (unintentionally by Casper) that they can't use magic and tried to scare them away. With no other choice Wendy used her wand to make stones out of them, which led to Desmond knowing their location.
With now Desmond on there track, they pack up to leave only to be surprised by Desmond as the evil warlock reveals that his motive for tracking them is upon learning from his Oracle in the Mirror that Wendy will be a greater witch them him, as he hold the record by being the greatest witch of all and attempt to used the Mystic Abyss to cast Wendy inside, but Casper arrives to save her, and the witches try to use there magic against him to no affect. Just when Desmond was about to finished them off, a three eyed mud monster appeared before him which frighten warlock causes him to plummet in the Abyss, as the monster was revealed to be the Ghostly Trio in disguise who use their ghostly powers to scare the evil warlock.
The witches and ghosts team up to get both Casper and Wendy out, with the witches grabbing on to the rope while the Trio held on to the wall that was gonna close them in. The younglings were able to make it out, but fell unconscious. The witches try to nurture Wendy while the ghosts help Casper get back up. Wendy was able to wake and the witches all embraced each other, and thank the Ghostly Trio for saving them, as the Trio revealed that they didn't mind their company.
With everything all well, said and done, Desmond's Oracle claimed with now that evil warlock is gone, Wendy is now the greatest witch for doing what no other witch can do and that was befriending a ghost.
The witches were beginning to show more respect to their niece, and after a brief visit from Casper which ends with Wendy sending the bags he was carrying to his uncles and gave him and quick kiss on the lips, they all take flight to return home.

- The leader of the Witches Gert, was portrayed by Cathy Moriarty who previously portrayed the main antagonist of the original 1995 Casper film, Carrigan Crittenden.
- In the old cartoons and comics, the Witch Sisters consist of Thelma, Velma and Zelma, while this version consist of Gert, Gabby and Fanny, which is similar to how two of the Ghostly Trio in the old cartoons and comics: Fusso and Lazo where replaced by Stretch and Stinike.
- Also in the old cartoons and comics, the Witch Sisters appeared to have green skin and warts on their faces, and all wearing the same style of clothing, while this version has them appear with more humanlike features along with different styles of clothing.
