Wolf is one of the two main deuteragonists (alongside Richard Sloat) in the Stephen King book The Talisman. He is a werewolf, and Jack Sawyer's best friend and companion through much of the book. Despite his size, he is normally a gentle giant unless someone threatens Jack.
Biography[]
After an encounter with Morgan, Jack Sawyer found himself drowning in a river at the Territories though he is rescued by Wolf. The two became friends after some explanations though they are quickly attacked by Morgan again which forced Jack to go back to the real world, using up the last of his "Juice". Now trapped in the real world, they are dragged to Sunlight Home, a boys school for misfits.
When he and Jack are held prisoner in the Sunlight Home for wayward boys, both of them are persistently bullied by the boys there. In addition, the person running the show is a Twinner of Osmond, the person hunting down Jack. This alternate he used is Robert Gardner which Osmond uses his power to gain information on his target.
Jack and Wolf survive an incident involving the higher-ups and finally gain access to the Territories, only to realize that the school is a prison. After a fight, Jack is captured and Wolf is put in "The Box" as punishment. Despite this however, he transforms and rampages through the Sunlight Home, killing several boys before being shot by Sonny Singer, who was aiming for Jack. He then dies in Jack's arms.
Trivia[]
- Despite being described as a werewolf, he does not follow certain tropes of the species, such as only being harmed by silver or transforming only during certain times
