| ~ Wonder-Pink in battle, Operation 002-A |
Wonder-Pink is one of the main heroes in the action beat-em-up game, The Wonderful 101, and a member of the CENTINELS Planetary Secret Service. She's the fourth member of the Wonderful Ones, and the first female main playable character to appear in the game. Her real name is Mariana Kretzulesco, and she is a Olympic gymnast outside of being a superhero. Wonder-Pink's attack is the Whip. She can use her whip to both damage foes, and pull heavy armor off, weakening their defense.
Personality[]
At a glance, Wonder-Pink has a carefree and sunny personality, which at times can make it seem as though she doesn't take her responsibilities as a Wonderful One seriously. She's the stereotypical girl, with a love for fashion, parties, and boys, and a tendency to get emotional or distracted. Described as putting fashion before the mission, her habit of making sure her makeup is perfect, even underneath her CENTINEL-Suit, often results in her arriving "fashionably late" to missions. She often complains about having her makeup and outfit ruined in battle, or being overworked on long operations, although such complaints usually seem to be jokes.
But despite her quirks, Pink also possesses excellent physical abilities, such that she's considered to be by far the most agile of any Wonderful One, and she's especially fierce in combat, with a love for punishing her opponents with brutal attacks.
More than anything else however, Wonder-Pink is defined by her hair-trigger temper: also known as "The Queen of Rage", Pink is easily angered by pretty much anything, never hesitates in voicing her frustrations, and is highly confrontational toward others. Unfortunately, it's almost always her teammates angering her, as she has little patience (if any) for their eccentric behavior, whether it be beating back Wonder-Green and his hopeless attempts at flirting with her, calling out Wonder-Blue for being reckless, cutting Wonder-White's long-winded proverbs short, and so on.
While Pink's tendency to lash out at her teammates might sound bad at first, it also carries the benefit of helping to keep the team under control: putting a stop to everyone's antics before things get too far out of hand is practically her unofficial responsibility in the team.
Despite her temper, Wonder-Pink does have a soft side, and is more than willing to offer some encouragement or praise to her teammates if they actually manage to earn it. She's also a caring big sister at heart, and actually enjoys the company of children: a trait that resulted in her becoming overly attached to Luka after he began to follow the Wonderful Ones.
Pink is also a hopeless romantic, as evidenced by her suffering a severe case of love-at-first-sight after meeting Prince Vorkken, and spending much of his screen time desperate for his attention. Hypocritically, Pink seems to be completely ignorant of the fact that her infatuation with Vorkken comes as a complete annoyance to the rest of the team, and becomes highly defensive at any attempt to interrupt her.
In addition to using a lot of valley girl-esque slang and filler words in her dialogue, such as "um", "like", or "OMG", Pink speaks in a stereotypical Romanian accent, which includes unnecessarily rolled R's and sometimes pronouncing W's as V's.
Appearance[]
As a trendy high-school student and Olympic gymnast, Mariana is an Romanian athletic teenage girl with vivid pink-colored eyes, pronounced lavender pink eyelashes, rose pink lips, and vivid ankle-length light hot pink hair with a bang swept to the left, collected behind her head with a cyan and white bandana. She wears a thin sleeveless black vest over a blue short-sleeve polo shirt, with a popped collar and a pair of large black sunglasses with amber lenses hanging from her collar, frayed jean shorts, and black high heels with brown fur leg warmers. She also wears stone-studded silver bangles on her wrists, a pair of heart stud earrings on her right ear, and a teddy bear earring hanging of her left ear. On close inspection, the teddy bear is actually wearing a Wonder-Mask and Shirogane Drive.
As Wonder-Pink, she dons a Wonder-Mask and a neon pink skirt-style CENTINEL-Suit, with a pastel pink jacket with popped collars brandishing the Wonderful Ones logo across its back. In this form, her pink hair becomes darker and glittery with purple streaks, and is tied into a high ponytail above the back of her head, with a loose bang parted to the left of her face. Pink's eyelashes are visible through her Wonder-Mask, and she now keeps her sunglasses on her head, but loses her earrings.
Like all Wonderful Ones, when Pink activates her suit's Unlimited Form a cape is released from the back of the suit and protective plates extend from her mask, covering her mouth. When unmasked, Pink's suit vanishes and she's reduced black undergarments, although her sunglasses stay on her head.
Overview[]
Mariana transforms into Wonder-Pink.
Chosen to go to the Olympics in gymnastics while still in high school, Wonder-Pink is by far the most agile of any Wonderful One. She matches this with an advanced proficiency in melee weaponry, specifically with her Beautiful Whip, knit from a next-gen stay-press alloy "Belmont alloy," for which she is unrivaled.
Pink is known for her "laissez-faire" personality, behaving carefree and sunny during even the most severe missions, as if her duties were just another after-school club; however, it is that relaxed attitude that, more often than not, spells disaster for the team. Exceedingly sensitive toward trends, she has decorated her issued weapon with a variety of accessories, and her tendency to prioritize fashion over the mission can occasionally give her superiors headaches. Nevertheless, Pink's excellent physical aptitude and peerless acrobatics have led the team to countless victories.
Extremely emotional, she sometimes reveals her terrifying true colors when angered. Pink is especially sensitive to anything said by Green, and she will gladly turn her tormentor into her whipping boy when set off.
Though at first glance she appears to detest children, Pink displays an unexpected caring side of her personality toward Luka after circumstances force them together. This change in her personality gives credence to the rumors that she is in search of her younger brother, said to be kidnapped by aliens.
Abilities[]
Wonder-Pink is an incredibly limber and skilled gymnast outside of the Wonderful 101 making her an agile and effective combatant. Her United Morph, Unite Whip, is most effective at range, where the destructive power of the move makes enemies dizzy if not outright destroying them or throwing them off the field of battle. Additionally, because of her quick reflexes, the Unite Whip can be used to reflect oncoming attacks back at the enemy, specifically allowing Wonder Pink to deal with spiked enemies that would otherwise shatter her colleagues Unite Morphs.
