Wriothesley (Pronounced RISE-lee) is a supporting and playable character from the 2020 video game Genshin Impact. He is the incumbent Duke and administrator of Fortress of Meropide, the de facto prison of Fontaine.
He was voiced by Joe Zieja in English and Daisuke Ono in Japanese. Daisuke Ono is voiced as Jotaro Kujo from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure franchise, Erwin Smith from Attack on Titan, Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara!!, Golem from Somali to Mori no kamisama, Sebastian Michaelis from black butlers, Sinbad from Maji, Kyōma Mabuchi from Dimension W, and Fafnir from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and Jing Yuan from Honkai: Star Rail.
Appearance[]
Wriothesley uses the tall male model. He has tufted black hair with grey streaks, pale grey eyes, and pale skin, and bears a scar beneath his right eye; three scars extending from high on his neck down to his mid-chest, with one on the right, one on the left, and one along the midline; and scars on his left and right forearms.
Personality[]
Despite his appearance, Wriothesley is fairly calm and collected, not worrying too much about the prison's infamous reputation as he only sees himself as a "leader" of sorts to oversee the population and ensure they have the "tranquility" they desire. He sees the prison as a place of rebirth and is willing to protect that way of life, not wanting others to suffer like he once did, and becomes extremely angered should such a circumstance occur on his watch. His relaxed policies has made him very popular among many inmates, who tend to address him as if he was nobility, due to being bestowed the title of "Duke" by the Palais Mermonia.
While he owns a pair of mechanical gauntlets for use in fighting, he is only willing to kill others should he have no choice but maintain law and order.
Outside of his duties, he enjoys drinking tea.

- Unlike most Fontainians, Wriothesley gets his name in English language (Germanic) instead of Romance languages.
- He is the second unarmed character in Genshin Impact, following Shikanoin Heizou.
- They are both assigned with catalysts but do not use them.
