Xavier is a major character in Tangled: The Series.
He is a Blacksmith who has great knowledge of the history of Corona, as well as magical affairs, myths and legends.
He is played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who also played Mr. Eko in Lost and Atticus in the 2014 historical film Pompeii.
Background[]
Xavier is a local blacksmith living in Coronan. Out of his job, he serves as a wise and honorable man who likes to tell the stories and legends about Coronan. Rapunzel and her friends when they need to know the cause of their supernatural problems in Crornan's past, often asking him, much to his delight, that many Coronan residents also ignore magic because they consider it only as a fairy tale. Also, for this Xavien, he plays an important role in protecting Coronan from supernatural threats.
History[]
Xavier first appears in the episode "Under Raps", when Rapunzel and Eugene visit him very late at night to have them fix Andrew's necklace, to which Xavier is surprised by saying it is an emblem, but Rapunzel gets confused and he thinks he means it represents love. Xavier then reveals to Rapunzel of the mistake and that the emblem truly represents the Saporia Separatists, an ancient organization bent on destroying Corona.
In "Big Brothers of Corona" she is one of the victims of Silent Striker, who stole his solid sweat while he was distracted from behind while giving change to a client. Eugene and Lance ask them about the theft while asking all the robbed victims to find a connection to frame the thief. His and Corona's other riches are then returned by the thieves.
In "Queen for a Day", when a terrible snow storm strikes Corona, Xavier tells a legend to others an ancient legend that says that years ago a cold curse was placed on Coronan by the evil demon, Zhan Tiri. With Lord Demanitus 's massive underground machine and magic and science mixed together, they had managed to stop Zhan Tiri and save the kingdom.
Rapunzel then asks them if it was a true story, Xavier just simply replies that all the legends must have come from somewhere, indicating that the story may be true. With the storm getting much worse, Rapunzel chooses to listen to the legend of Xavier and asks him if he could know where the machine is, to which Xavier takes her, Pascal and Cassandra, to which the legend turns out to be true: the machine. is located under the castle and Pascal manages to unlock the car by going through the ducts and stop the storm. The three believe that Pascal did not make it, but he turns out to be alive and safe, Xavier is the first to notice.
In "Painter's Block", Xavier begins to hear a strange female voice that makes him look for information about the machine in a book. When he searches for information about Mrs. Sugarby's painting class at sunset, he realizes who she really is, but is captured by Sugarby before he manages to escape and warn the rulers. After he is found by Eugene and Cassandra, Xavier quickly explains to them that Sugarby is actually an evil spirit, released from his prison using the machine. She plans to use her art class to perform a ritual to evoke her imprisoned mistress. After her revelation, Eugene and Cassandra run to stop her and save Rapunzel.
In "Not in the Mood", Xavier sees that his three friends don't get along very well and so he gives Pascal and Maximus a potion to reverse the personality of their friends for a few hours, warning them not to use more than three drops. He is later very upset to learn that his instructions were not followed, not realizing it wasn't the animals' fault. He sends them to get a special plant so they can prepare the antidote. However, he is later knocked out by the animals leaving them to make the antidote on their own.
A year after Rapunzel and his friends left Coronan to find the Black Rocks, Xavier was assigned the role of gang leader to defend Coronan from hostile takeover by Varian. After Rapunzel and his friends return from their journey in "The Return of Rapunzel", Xavier is delighted to see them and assures his followers that the game has now changed in their favor.
In "Return of the King", Xavier is mentioned by King Edmund at the end of the episode. After a sash that Edmund intends to pass on to his son Eugene while a family heirloom is destroyed, Edmund creates a new sash for him with the assistance of Xavier.
In "The Lost Treasure of Herz Der Sonne", Xavier is seen with another repairing the Throne Room of Crown Castle, which was damaged by the events of "The Return of Rapunzel". He then works with Varian on a treasure hunt. Xavier is used to telling tales of legends, annoying Varian at first, but after defeating the mummies that protected the treasure, they become great friends.
In the latest episode of the series, "Plus Est En Vous", Xavier is one of the citizens who are accidentally sucked into the Lost Realm through a portal that Varian rebuilt to imprison Zhan Tiri. After being stuck in the kingdom for some time, he and the others are saved by Quirin, but the portal is then crushed by the debris of Zhan Tiri who transforms into a demon. Xavier then joins the citizens of Corona and the Brotherhood in the battle against Zhan Tiri, but like everyone else, he is weakened by the demon's decay spell and is later revived by Rapunzel's healing spell after Zhan Tiri's death. - Xavier was original set to appear in the film, "Tangled" before he was cut from it.
- He is the most knowledgeable subject in all of Corona's ancient myths and legends, fables and folktales of thousands of years ago. As such, he likes telling of the myths about "The Legend of Herz Der Sonne's Lost Treasure", "The Legend of the Lone Birdman of Swandalay Legend of a Mighty Balloon", "The Legend of Perpetua Demosthenese", "The Cheating Willows", "The Undead Protectors of Herz Der Sonne's Treasure" and the legend of the evil sorcerer Zhan Tiri and her archenemy, Lord Demanitus.
- It said that he had made a sleeping potion, with which Nigel had attempted to use on the pink infant dragon "Little Big Guy".
