Yasmin "Yaz" Khan is one of the main protagonists of the eleventh season of the Doctor Who revival series. it is a young woman of Pakistani origin who after being confronted with a dangerous Stenza hunter, became the new companion of the time traveling extrateress, The Doctor.
She is portrayed by Mandip Gill.
Personality
Yasmin is ambitious, friendly and pretty sure of herself. She has some rivalry with her sister, Sonya. She does not seem to have much social life because her family describes her as "married to her job".
Biography
In her youth, she went to Redlands Primary where she met Ryan Sinclair but both lost contact after leaving primary school.
Due to his Muslim heritage and Pakistan, Yasmin has often been the victim of sometimes racist mockery.
In 2016, Yasmin joined the Hallamshire Police as a subordinate officer.
