Yin-Yang is a major character in the 2011 animated web-series Inanimate Insanity, serving as a male contestant on the show.
They serve as a supporting character in the second season, and one of the two tritagonists (alongside Bot) in the third season.

Appearance[]
Yin-Yang appears as a spherical form of the yin-yang symbol, split white and black by a wavy division, nearly in the Old Yin position. They have two arms and two legs, which both halves can control at their own will. Yin, the white half, is on the lower left-hand side, and Yang, the black half, is on the upper right-hand side. Sometimes, Yin is on the right-hand side, and Yang is on the left-hand side. Yin-Yang’s mouth is on Yin's side, with one eye shown black, whereas the other on Yang's side is shown white. As seen in the sixth episode of the 3rd season, when Yang takes full control of the body, Yin's eye becomes white with a black outline. As for Yin taking full control of the body, Yang's eye becomes black with a white outline.
Personality[]
Due to them both being connected and having different personality, they both didn't get along atall due to Yang being super wrathful, and Yin being super gentle and kind. In the 3rd episode of the 2nd season, they both get disconnected due to Test Tube giving them a potion to stop there constant arguing, this backfires as without Yin to stop him, Yang goes on a killing rampage. This leads to Yin wanting to connect back with Yang to stop him. At the third season it shown they don't really have constant arguments anymore and get closer as the season progresses.

- Yin-Yang is the second contestant to be a recommended character to join Inanimate Insanity. The first one being Apple.
- When a poll was created by the Inanimate Insanity team to see who the most popular contestant was, Yin-Yang made it to 2nd place under Lightbulb.
- Yin-Yang's creator Marco Bonomo mistakenly listed "Yin" as the white half and "Yang" as the black half where in the Taoism symbol, "Yin" is the black half, and "Yang" is the white half.
- This was indirectly referenced in the episode, "Out of Body Experience" where they were swapped the others' half.
- Yin-Yang speaks with an Italian accent since Marco Bonomo hails from Italy, which makes Yin-Yang the only contestant voiced by a European voice actor.
- Yin-Yang is the only character who is not specifically an object and is instead a variation of a symbol; therefore, their substance is unknown.
- While not directly canon, Marco Bonomo has stated on Twitter he believes they have a smooth, rubber ball-like texture.
