Yord Fandar is a major character in the 2024 Disney+ series, The Acolyte.
He is a Jedi Knight and guardian of the Jedi Temple who aided Master Sol in his hunt for Mae Aniseya and her master.
He is portrayed by Charlie Barnett.
History[]
Yord was an old friend of Osha Aniseya when they were both padawans during the High Republic Era. After he was knighted he took on a padawan learner named Tasi Lowa.
Years after Osha left Master Indra was killed, both Yord and Tasi went to Osha who match the description of the bartener's description of her.
After the ship came crashing down Yord was chosen by Master Sol to acopmplied him and Jecki Lon to find Osha. Yord was surprise when Sol mentioned Osha had a twin sister which both he and Jecki believed to be alive and committing those murders but Sol told them Mae had died in the fire. When they found Osha she revealed her long-lost sister Mae was alive. After bringing Osha back to the ship, Yord express his concerns to Sol about how Mae could have possibly trained in combat and using the Force.
Personality[]
He was an overachiever and a rule follower. He was also highly disciplined, and dedicated to protecting the Galactic Republic. However, his need to be a by-the-book Jedi sometimes could cloud his focus.
Having to been Osha's friend, Yord was first reluctant to believe her innocent but he still greatly cared for her safety.
Powers and Abilities[]
- The Force: Yord was born Force sensitive, making her capable of manipulating this field of energy passing through all life.
- Telekinesis: Yord is shown utilizing telekinesis for offensive and defense purposes.
- Expert Lightsaber Combatant: As a Jedi in training, Yord is trained to fight with a lightsaber. He manage to fight “The Master”, along with the other Jedi but ultimately lost. The second time he fought him he manage to use his helmet to disable his saber but he was unprepared for the second blade.
Equipment[]
- Lightsaber: Yord owned a yellow-bladed lightsaber.
- Stun blaster: Yord also has a stun blaster owned by the Jedi Order which was given to Osha.
