Yoshihoro Shimazu is one of the major characters in the Sengoku BASARA series. He was introduced in the first installment and has appeared in all of the main games ever since.
Shimazu Yoshihiro is depicted as a small, though muscular man wielding a big sword. Yoshihiro likes to fight and even more so when his rival, Honda Tadakatsu, is in the enemy ranks.
At the beginning of Samurai Heroes, Yoshihiro contemplates whether he should help the "younger generations" (Ieyasu Tokugawa, the leader of the Eastern Army, and Mitsunari Ishida of the West).
He is ultimately impressed by Mitsunari in battle and joins the Western forces. He has a rivalry with Ieyasu's vassal, Tadakatsu Honda, and while Yoshihiro has a love for fighting, he was even more enthusiastic about it when Tadakatsu is on the opposing side.
- Yoshihiro is voiced by Kenichi Ogata in the Japanese games, Paul Dobson in Devil Kings and Peter Beckman in Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes. His English voice actor in the anime is R. Bruce Elliott.
