Yuma Ozora (大空 勇馬, Ōzora Yūma) is the tritagonist of Dengeki Sentai Changeman. He is the ChangePegasus of the Changemen, and a former member of the Earth Defense Army.
He was portrayed by Shiro Izumi.
Personality[]
Yuma Oozora is the youngest of the team as well as a weapon expert. He is pretty good at handling children and animals, but has the most fragile heart, causing him to get a mental breakdown at one point. A former member of the Earth Defense Army, Yuma is an expert in mechanisms and thus designs Hiryu's classic weapons, such as the Bomb Ball.
He loves food to the point of stopping in the middle of his army training for it. His wish is opening a tonkatsu shop once he finishes his duty as a Changeman, and in one occasion he steals an alien crystal for finances only to be arrested.
He is also tone-deaf and considered to be the Earth Defense Force's worst recent singer. Yuma's youthful outlook on life helps him bond with many ignored species and children.
Biography[]
Dengeki Sentai Changeman[]
Yuma was once a Branch Officer of the Earth Defense Force, training cruelly under Commander Ibuki to prepare for the Great Star League Gozma's attacks.
When the Gozma begins to attack Earth, they decide to eliminate those who pose the greatest threats: the military. Meanwhile, the Earth Defense Force's members are fed up with Ibuki's cruel training and start to leave, only to be attacked by them.
Yuma alongside Hiryu Tsuragi, Sho Hayate, Sayaka Nagisa and Mai Tsubasa, refusing to retreat, gather together and are thus empowered by the Earth with its force, giving them mythological beasts' powers, turning them into the Changeman. Under Ibuki's guidance, Yuma and his teammates fight against the Gozma to save the Earth.
Later appearances[]
At Turboranger, Yuma and his teammates joined Battle Fever J, Denzimen, Sun Vulcan, Goggle-V , Dynaman, Bioman, Flashman, Maskman and Livemen, standing behind the latest Sentai, Turborangers, facing the Hundred Boma Tribes.
Years later in Gokaiger, the 34 Super Sentai teams, including the Changemen, are summoned to oppose the Zangyack Empire's invasion on Earth. They manag to defeat the ground forces, but then Akarenger told everyone to combine their powers against its fleet. They successfully destroy the fleet at the cost of their own powers, which reappeared on Ranger Keys and spread throughout the universe.
AkaRed then collect the keys and give it to the Gokaigers. The most powers of the Changemen was originally taken by Basco ta Jolokia, who destroyed the Earth Defense Force to obtain it and eventually took it from an unidentified male EDF member. After the death of Basco, Sho awards the Gokaigers. They then return the Ranger Keys after finally defeating Zangyack, before leaving the Earth to find the second greatest treasure in the universe, allowing the Super Sentai to regain their powers.
In Super Hero Taisen, Yuma and his teammates alongside most Super Sentai heroes are involved in the "Super Hero Taisen" event. They pretend to be defeated by Kamen Rider Decade, who is apparently looking for the Sentai teams, and are presumably pushed to the dimensional rift. When he and Marvelous's captain's tricks are revealed, the Changemen appear with other super teams through the size wall object, and team up with all other Sentai teams and Kamen Riders against Dai-Shocker and Dai-Zangyack.
