Doctor Yuri Solotov is a supporting protagonist in Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.
Yuri originally led his own group of Snow Piratebefore he would join Neo Venus Construction to assist in the development of the Frontier Project shortly after discovering Wayne Holden. He would later turn against the corporation after learning that the Frontier Project main aim was to eradicate all life on E.D.N. III which led to his downfall. He is best known for saving Wayne Holden, developing the Harmonizer system, and leading the fight against NEVEC's control over Thermal Energy.
He was voiced by Andrew Kishino who also voiced the clones of Ivan Solotov in Lost Planet 2.
Biography[]
Snow Pirate[]
Yuri Solotov was born to Ivan Solotov who was a NEVEC employee at the time of his birth. Sometime 30 years before Wayne Holden was in a frozen state, his father led Gale, Wayne and his band of Snow Pirates into a NEVEC trap by luring them to Dome City towards the Akrid Green Eye. Gale survived briefly to realize Ivan's betrayal before being discovered by Bandero were he was killed. Since then, Ivan is being hunted down by Basil, who he had her family and friends killed also. Yuri quickly rose to prominence as a brilliant researcher. He eventually meets Luka and Rick aswell as other comrades to join his cause against the Akrid hives. Though his Snow Pirate group ran into trouble with Crimson Unity who stole their trailer and killed many of his allies.
After 30 years of being frozen within his Vital Suit, Yuri discovers Wayne who took care of him and gave him a harmonizer as a secret from Luka and Rick. While Wayne has been fighting against the Akrid, Yuri has been in secret collaborating with NEVEC and the Frontier Project, looking to assist with the project by ways of warming up the planet for all human inhabitants, transforming from a hostile icescape into a lush utopia.

After leaving Wayne, Luka and Rick to join NEVEC, he was welcomed with open arms by Commander Isenberg and to ignore the problems his father caused before. After a year of working into the project, Yuri and his colleagues finally achieved making the Frontier Project possible but he soon found out that the system will eradicate all life on E.D.N. III both Akrid and humans alike. Yuri attempts to stop it but was captured and tortured by Isenberg who had him locked up within a containment facility near the orbital elevator. Yuri would contact Joe, who recently defected NEVEC, to deliver the harmonizer upgrade attachment to Wayne.

Once Luka and Rick infiltrated the underground level of the complex, they find Yuri dying. After Wayne defeats Bandero and reobtains his father's Vital Suit, he is met with Basil who bought enough time for Wayne to meet up with Yuri at the cost of her life. Wayne rushed to him who then tries to comfort before dying from his wounds in his arms. Wayne would use the Vital Suit and the equipped the attachment to his harmonizer which released the full potential of his VS and uses it to defeat Isenberg. Joe would stop the Frontier System which is ultimately destroyed.
Legacy[]
One year after his death, Luka covers Yuri's research into the harmonizer and a lot of valuable data tied to global warming which he left behind. Luka analyzed the data with the help of her brother, Rick and with synchronized global warming data post devices they were able to accomplish Yuri's dream of turning E.D.N. III into a warm, green paradise for humans to live. Thanks to Yuri's research, E.D.N. III experiences a shift of global climate change and attract colonists from troublesome Earth to E.D.N. III. After 10 years of his death, the planet has developed vast blue oceans, lush green jungles and scorching yellow deserts and reports of further vegetations popping up across E.D.N. III.
Personality[]
Yuri is a calm, intelligent, and deeply principled individual. As a NEVEC scientist, he values knowledge and progress, but never at the expense of human life or freedom. His strong moral compass drives him to rebel against NEVEC’s authoritarian control, even knowing it would cost him everything.
Yuri is compassionate and selfless, acting as a mentor and father figure to Wayne Holden, whom he rescues and nurtures after a traumatic loss. He prefers peaceful solutions but is not afraid to resist tyranny when necessary. Despite his quiet demeanor, he shows great inner strength, courage, and conviction, earning the respect of those around him.
