Yuri Suzuki is referred to as either Yuri by her family and Kail (Princess Yuri to most), but widely known as Ishtar, the reincarnation of the goddess of love and war.
Yuri was a regular middle school student who just passed her high school entrance exam when she was pulled through a puddle across time and space to Hattusa, the Hittite Empire's capital during the reign of Suppiluliuma I. Once there, she meets a prince named Kail who kisses, and rescues her from her kidnapper. Suddenly she's able to speak and understand their language. She quickly finds herself becoming entangled in political and emotional whirlwinds she never thought any normal 15-year-old girl would ever have to encounter.

Yuri is shown throughout the series to be kind and considerate, someone everyone looks up to and gets a special place in their hearts. It's known that Yuri is much more wise and forgiving than many of the leaders the empire has seen.
Often told she looks like a young boy, Yuri enjoys wearing the clothes of her once servant Tito. Though when dressed up, she looks beautiful and delicate. She was once compared to a flower bud just before it blooms.
