Yuya Fungami is a supporting character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable.
He is first introduce in the Highway Star Arc and reliable ally in the Enigma Boy Arc. He is also a stand user that was obtained when being stab by the stand arrow from Yoshihiro Kira. His stand is called Highway Star (Highway GoGo in the localized version).
He was voiced by Kisho Taniyama in Japanese and Philip Reich in English.
Appearance[]
Yuya is young man who wears very stylish clothing that makes him stand out compared to the average biker. He has a undercut and have a tattoo on his chin. His tattoo says "H☆S." His clothes is a stylized school uniform and wears a belt around his torso. He also wears a white tie that's says "Speed King" and "Highway", probably referencing his status as a biker or the English rock band Deep Purple and their song Speed King.
Personality[]
Yuya is a selfish and prideful young individual. He is always admiring himself and his importance due to his injuries. He excuses this importance by using his stand to feed off peoples energy, so he can fix his injuries faster. Yuya always talk about how handsome he is and like it when people like his fan girls admire it. He even claims that his face is chiseled like Michelangelo's David statue. He takes extreme pride on his incredible sense of smell, going so far to notice that one of his fan girls is on her period but leads him to underestimate his foes, like Josuke. When he was finally caught by Josuke, Yuya shows a lot of confidence to take more of Josuke's energy, which leads to his downfall when he did not notice Josuke drinking his IV.
Despite Yuya's selfish attitude, he is actually a rogue that wants to avoid conflict as possible. He panics when an enemy is around and hopes the fight is over. But he was willing to help Josuke to find Koichi and stop Terunosuke Miyamoto after learning his lesson from before. Even when Josuke was captured by the enigma boy, he still persist, saying that he will not tolerate people like Yoshikage Kira since it hurt his image and does not want to live as a lier. He even goes on to state that in these situations, he thinks about his girlfriends and wants to protect them. This shows that he does have a sense of morality and is not completely selfish. Yuya helping Josuke also reveals that he is very loyal and brave to confront someone like Miyamoto.

Yuya's stand, Highway Star has four abilities in its area despite not being combat base it can be a powerful foe on its own. It can run up to 60 km/h and run very fast towards its suggestive target.
- Room Creation: Highway Star can create room of illusions to lure out its prey. The room is dependent on the person there targeting, for example: when it was targeting Rohan, the room appeared to be nice and typical room that contained a vision of a man that looks like Yoshikage Kira cutting off a women hand. Once a person gets in the room, they enter the stands range and becomes its target.
- Enhanced Sense of Smell: The stand has a powerful senes for smell, which Yuya himself has as well. The stand can lock on someone scent and track where they are going. If the target gets farther away than the 60 km/h that the Stand can travel, Highway Star can vanish and then rematerialize to be in the general location of its victim, no matter how far they get away. Yuya can use his own nose as a way to sense different smells.
- Body Dismantlement: - Highway star can divide itself apart when something is its way, attacked, or to catch their prey faster. When doing this the stand becomes impervious to any physical attacks, like punches for example. It can also slip through any narrow spaces and corners but in this state the stand is automatic.
- Life Force Absorption: Highway Stars main ability is to steal the nutrient of others. When stealing them it transfers to the user and can heal any injuries they may have. According to Yuya, he can completely drain a person until they become a empty husk.
Biography[]
Past[]
Yuya Fungami was a member of an unknown biker gang, who later fell in an accident with his motorcycle. When brought to the hospital, he was stabbed by the stand arrow. He later discover that he has a stand and names it Highway Star then he uses it to steal people's energy to heal his injuries.
Highway Star[]

One day, Yuya used his power to create an illusion of Yoshikage Kira to gain the attention of Rohan Kishibe, luring him into a mysterious room. From there, his stand Highway Star tries to catch Rohan but Rohan escapes but fails and is dragged back to the room. He starts taking his energy unless Rohan offer someone else to replace him, that person would be Josuke. When Josuke arrives he tries to help Rohan in his situation but Rohan, being stubborn as he is, refuses and warns Josuke of the stands power and tells him to leave. Josuke escapes in order to find the user, which gains Highway Star's attention.
After the harsh chase with Highway Star, Josuke enters the hospital and found Yuya's room, thanks to Koichi's help. Yuya is still optimistic about his health and is eager to drain Josuke energy. Unfortunately for Yuya, Josuke regained his energy by drinking his IV but Yuya mentions that he is not completely healed, so Josuke used his stand to heal him and punches him out the window.
Enigma Boy[]
When Koichi and Tomoko are kidnapped, Josuke went to hire Yuya for help and offers to heal him, which he does promises. With Yuya finally healed, he goes on to help Josuke to find his friend and mother. Yuya uses his senses to track Koichi smell and finds his school bag but he smells another person near by which is Miyamoto. Yuya reminds Josuke to keep him out of fighting but witness Josuke be ambushed by Miyamoto. Though being ignored by Miyamoto, Yuya still persist to defeat Miyamoto and his stand Enigma Boy. Yuya's proves to be a capable foe towards Enigma boy and is turn into paper by him and is going to be shredded with Josuke and Koichi inside. But Yuya uses this opportunity to use this transformation to take both Josuke and Koichi out of the shredder, showing that Yuya manipulated Miyamoto to save Josuke and Koichi. When Miyamoto threatens to rip Yuya's paper, Koichi's Echoes weights his hands and immobilizes him. Josuke and Koichi defeats Miyamoto and had him turn into a book and released Yuya from his trap.
Goodbye, Morioh - The Golden Heart[]
Yuya is last seen waving goodbye to Reimi Sugimoto after she passes to the after life. In the anime, he is last seen outside of Tonio's restaurant, being happy with his Girlfriends.
