Yzak Joule is a former antagonist character in Gundam SEED, he reappeared as a supporting character in Gundam SEED Destiny, and a major character in Gundam SEED Freedom.
He is voiced by Tomokazu Seki in Japanese, who voiced Sanemi Shinazugawa in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Gilgamesh in Fate/Grand Order franchise, and Domon Kasshu in Mobile G Fighter Gundam.
Personality and Character[]
Yzak is known as hot-headed, impulsive and superiority, but he also cared his friends/teammates. He had in his confidence towards his friend and rival, Athrun Zala, challenging him through skills and leadership. Yzak's views against Naturals with inferior, but leaving them off-guard would be his option, however, he sees his fellow ZAFT troops killing all surrendered enemies without resisting and he's not satisfied at all. In meeting with Dearka Elsman, who had also a same inferior personality of Yzak but he was changed after he was captured by the Archangel Crew, he questions Yzak that who among them being deceived during the time of war.
During he became a leader of his own team, he became matured, professional commander, and worthy of a soldier to protect his nation, leaving his grudge against his sworn enemy, Kira Yamato, who gave Yzak's scars and Nicol's death during the past war, as well as his crimes during he shot the space shuttle filled with civilians during his court trial.
Skills and Abilities[]
Yzak is a military soldier with close combat skills, expert piloting other mobile suits and leadership through his own team. He piloted the Duel Gundam with a melee and mid-range style as well as the Assault Shroud armor with additional weapons. During the second war, he piloted the customized Slash ZAKU Phantom and the GOUF Ignited with a few firepower but useful in close range. In the battle against the Kingdom of Foundation and the rogue ZAFT Forces, he came back piloted his signature Duel Gundam with upgraded nuclear-powered version and a new weapons for likely a tribute to Nicol and his Blitz Gundam, which is called the "Duel Blitz Gundam" and it can also equipped with METEOR that previously used by Freedom/Strike Freedom and Justice/Infinite Justice Gundams.

Trivia[]
- Yzak Joule's Japanese voice actor, Tomokazu Seki, who also share the same voice of Sanemi Shinazugawa in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, it's because both Sanemi and Yzak have a same white hair with the scar on their faces and hot-headed personality, however, Yzak's scars were fully healed after the first war.
- Though Yzak was supposed to be the pilot of the GYAN Strom in the Gundam SEED Freedom movie, though Director Mitsuo Fukuda finally decided that Yzak came back piloting his upgraded Duel Gundam.
