Zana is the name of a particularly powerful and good-natured fairy from Albanian folk lore and fairy tales, later envisioned as a type of guardian angel and also an inspiration for the concept of the "Fairy Godmother" archetype.
Biography[]
Zana were incredibly beautiful spirits of nature who would aid lost or injured people in the forests, especially children.
Zana also helped bring life to unborn infants and would grant them magical boons such as dancing, beauty and luck.
While good-natured Zana were still fairies and could be dangerous if provoked and would curse those who were disrespectful or evil in nature.
Zana had a fierce rivalry with an evil beldam known as Muma Padurii, who was the direct counter of the Zana (being ugly, evil-minded and selfish).
