Hezekias, better known as Zee, is one of the major characters of the 2023 revival of the Canadian animated reality show Total Drama Island. He serves as a member of Ferocious Trout and returns in the 2024 sequel as a major character in which he was a member of the Rat Faces.
He was voiced by Gerardo Gismondi.
Appearance[]
Zee is a lanky Salvadorian-Canadian teenage boy who has a honey tan skin complexion and mid back length raven-black straight hair with dark purple reflections and is tied into a low ponytail with a purple hair tie. He also dons an apple green backwards cap, yellow V-neck T-shirt, salmon pink pants, and white sneakers. He is revealed to have been born without a leg and thus has a prosthetic. He originally wore long pants until a shark ripped his left pant leg off, forcing him to wear shorts and light indigo socks for the remainder of the season .
Personality[]
Zee is an extremely chill teenager, judging by the tone of his voice. He seems to be unable to hold a grudge on someone when they wronged him, shown by how he doesn't even hold a grudge on Chase for leaving him to die, much to Emma's annoyance, or to Julia for giving him a wedgie. While that does not exactly make him the smartest contestant, but he is also one of the kindest people on the island. Likewise, he gets along with everybody, to the point that he tries to secretly ally with everybody in the merge and vote off Chris so they can all stop fighting, to no avail. Zee is one of a few contestants who has no problem eating Chef's disgusting food, only getting grossed out when he learns what milk is.
Zee has lived with congenital amputation his whole life. Unlike other contestants, who were ashamed of their disabilities partly because it affects their social life, Zee fully accepted his condition and even makes the best of it. Despite his oblivious nature, he is completely aware that its inevitable that people will ask why he's an amputee. Instead of telling the truth, he tells cool stories about performing a dangerous stun for their entertainment.
Story[]
Hezekias "Zee" was born with congenital amputation, which resulted in him being born not having his lower left leg and having to wear a prosthetic leg for the rest of his life. Instead of telling people the truth when they ask, he makes up exciting stories on he allegedly lost it for their entertainment. When he got older, he auditioned for the Total Drama reboot and got accepted.
Zee, wearing pants which hid his prosthesis, tries to hug Chris but got rejected. He gets placed on the Ferocious Trout.
In Pirates of the Cabbagean, Zee and Scary Girl become the last Ferocious Trout to still be on board. Scary Girl suggests ramming the Frogs of Death's ship so the challenge ends in a tie. After she gets knocked off, Zee goes along with her plan. However he crashes into a rock amd sinks the ship. As Zee swims to shore, a shark bites him on his prosthetic leg. Although he successfully punches the shark's nose to shoo it away, the shark rips his prosthesis and pant leg off, much to Zee's annoyance and everyone else's horror as they thought he was abled. Zee's team wonder why Zee was only annoyed by what happened until the shark, who tries and fail to eat his prosthetic, spits it out, revealing his disability to the world and he was okay. He justifies not telling anyone that "[they] never said [their] legs weren't [prosthetics]." After that, Zee decides to wear shorts for now on. Despite Chef pointing out it was his fault his team lost, Zee, rightfully, believes he's safe as everyone would want to know how he "lost" his leg. He reveals in the confessional he's was born like this.
Trivia[]
- Zee has been noted by several Latin American fans to bear a physical resemblance to the Salvadorian YouTuber and gamer Fernanfloo. That said, Terry McGurrin has said that their similarities were only a coincidence, and given how Fernanfloo is popular in Latin America, it's unlikely anyone at Fresh TV could have found him as an inspiration for Zee.
- He is the first amputee in the franchise.
- From all Total Drama contestants, Zee is easily one of the friendliest and kindest characters in the show, alongside DJ, Zoey, Brick, Dawn, and Ella.
- In Total Drama Island (2024), he is being payed to be an influencer by a soda company to try the delicious flavors. However, he seems to find the banana flavor disgusting, but pretends to like it due to being taped on Total Drama.
- He is the only member of the Team Rat Face who is not an anti-hero.
