In the Generation 1 cartoon continuity, Zeta Prime was not originally named but was referred to in scripts as the New Narrator before being officially named in The AllSpark Almanac II.
Aligned continuity family[]
He serves as a significant figure in the history of the Primes, though he does not directly precede Optimus Prime in the film itself, but rather his role is taken on by Sentinel Zeta Prime in the Aligned continuity.
Transformers One[]
In the 2024 film Transformers One, Zeta Prime is the de facto leader of the Thirteen Primes, the first Transformers, and the first bearer of the Matrix of Leadership. For tragedy, he is ultimately betrayed and killed by Sentinel Prime, who murders him in a misguided attempt to steal the Matrix for himself.
