This is how you show the world... who you REALLY are''
~ Zeus to Heron and his most famous quote

Zeus is the titular overarching protagonist of the Netflix anime series Blood of Zeus.

He is the god of the skies, the King of Olympus the brother of Hestia, Demeter, Hades and Poseidon, the half-brother of Chiron, the husband and brother of Hera and the father of Heron as well as many gods and demigods, he is also the youngest son of the Titan queen Rhea and the King of the Titans Cronos.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Zeus was born the youngest son of the titaness Rhea and the king of the Titans and the then-ruler of the universe Cronus, but had heard of a prophecy where one of his children would take his power (just like he did with his father) and in an attempt to avoid this fate, he had eaten all of the children prior to his birth. But not wanting to have him face this fate as well, his mother & grandmother Gaia took him away to grow up without his father seeing him, which they made Cronus believe by replacing him with a bunch of stones & enchanting them to make it seem like a baby moving.

Right afterwards, Zeus would grow up in a hidden realm somewhere his father would never look with his Gaia and guards called Curetes watching over him, but with no father-figure Zeus never knew what it felt like to bond with one or how to even act like a good dad, something that would prove to be very problematic later in his life.

Becoming Lord of the Universe[]

When he soon grew up into a man, Zeus trained alongside the Curetes to defend himself from danger, and when he was ready, Zeus was given a special ring that shows the symbol of the element he chose: Lightning. After learning of his sibling's fate at the hands of his father, Zeus marched over to mount Etna to challenge his father for the rule of the cosmos, with their first fight ending with him prevailing and saving his siblings.

Banding together with his fellow gods, Zeus lead them on a brutal war against his father and allies that would become known as the Titanomachy, which ended with them as the victor and trapping his father and the other titans deep within a section of the underworld called Tartarus for eternity. However as Zeus defeated one Titan left standing, he swore a curse on the gods, and when his blood struck the sea, that curse took the form of dangerous monsters that would become known as Giants whose sole purpose was to destroy the realm of the gods.

With that another hellish war known as the Gigantomachy then began as the Gods did their best to slay the giants, but it proved to difficulty, that is until one day, Zeus convinced two of the giants to take up arms with the gods and with them by his side, Zeus would lead them all on one final attack against their shared enemy. With the two giant's help Zeus and Gods subdued the monsters and with some extra help via a special Cauldron, they captured their souls while their remains were cast into the ocean to be forever swallowed by the tides, afterwards Zeus ordered a giant guardian to stand guard over the cauldron that was locked inside a deep volcano, forever sworn to keep it shut so that this evil would never return.

Unfortunately the defeat of the giants, Zeus and his pantheon soon discovered that during the Gigantomachy, one more monster came to be that would bare his own name that struck fear in them so much that they dared not speak it: Typhon, and he proved to stronger than every titan or giant (aside from Cronos himself) before. It took the combined powers of all the Gods to finally defeat the beast, but even then they still couldn't kill it as he had become an elemental. So to make sure he never rises again they trapped it under mount Etna and with the help of the witch goddess Hecate, they sealed him up and they vowed to never speak his name to ensure he stays trapped, as for his powers they were all transferred into a special rock which would become known as the Eleusinian Stone.

Personality[]

As the King of the gods he is a figure that commands great power and respect and has shown great bravery on the battlefield as he fought his evil father Kronos and freed his siblings and led them in the war against the giants. But like every other god he is flawed and perhaps the most flawed of all.

Appearance[]

Like all the other gods, Zeus is very tall, muscular, and handsome. He had shoulder-length brown hair, a neatly trimmed brown-and-gray beard, and bright blue eyes. He wears blue and white robes with threads of gold and golden accessories.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Olympian Deity Physiology: Zeus belongs to a race of ancient and inconceivably powerful beings known as the Olympian gods. Because of this heritage. As the King of Olympus, Zeus was arguably the most powerful of the Gods despite being the youngest of his siblings. Zeus possesses the conventional superhuman attributes of an Olympian Deity; many of these abilities are vastly superior to those possessed by the vast majority of his race. Although he possessed a wide range of abilities and powers, he himself admitted that he was not all-powerful. His actions on the mortal world are confined by the will of the Fates, and even he did not dare face all the other gods on Olympus when they banded together.
    • Immortality: Like all the gods, Zeus was ageless, if not extremely long-lived.
    • Immense Strength: Zeus is immensely strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Giants even in his weakened state. His punches created shockwaves that caused minor earthquakes around the fight area.
    • Immense Speed: Zeus can run and move at speeds far greater than any human or most gods.
    • Immense Durability: Zeus possessed immense levels of superhuman durability. He was immune to all diseases, ailments, and toxins. In addition, he is enormously resistant to damage. He was able to survive a slit to the throat but was severely injured in the process; ultimately proved not to be invulnerable as only beings of equal power to him are the only ones that can visibly harm him.
    • Immense Stamina: Zeus' highly advanced physiology generates almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity, enabling him to sustain his strength. As a result, he possesses almost limitless superhuman stamina. His stamina is matched among the Olympians only by his brothers Poseidon and Hades and his sons Ares, Heron, and Hermes.
    • Regenerative Healing Factor: Like all Olympians, it is possible to physically (or even mentally) injure him despite his superhuman durability. However, if injured, he can heal with superhuman speed and efficiency. The full limits of his healing powers are unknown. However, they are considered considerably higher than those of the vast majority of his race, being the King of Olympus itself.
  • Atmokinesis: As God of the Storms, Zeus can manipulate the weather. He can summon strong winds, powerful storms, and thunder.
