Biography[]
Past[]
Zeus was the third born son of the Titan Chronos and his queen Rhea. He was also their final child. Seeing his father's tyranny Zeus and siblings rose up against him and cut him into pieces and threw him into Tartarus. Later Zeus and his older brothers would drew lots to divide the world. Zeus would take the sky, Poseidon the sea and Hades the Underworld. Zeus then married the goddess of marriage, Hera but he ironically would be very unfaithful to her.
After having multiple gods and demigods he felt bad for his brother Hades who got the loneliest realm. Zeus became aware he was in love with Persephone so he "took" her to the Underworld. This act of objectification enraged Hades, which in turn enraged Zeus for someone to dare being angry at him, the perfect being, so the Heavenly and Infernal brothers cut ties with each other.
Hades I[]
When Zeus learned from his daughter, Athena, that Hades' son, Zagreus wanted to go to Olympus, Zeus presented himself as the gracious uncle, in order to spite his brother, so he offers him boons. Zagreus would later return invite Zeus and the other Olympians in the Underworld for a feast. Then Zeus learns Hades and Persephone are married and had Zagreus and agrees with their made up reason of how that happened in order to cover up that scandal.
Hades II[]
Zeus returns offering boons to his niece Melinoƫ to help her defeat Chronos. After the battle, Zeus is informed by Hades about their father's repentance and demands to see him personally on Olympus. There, Zeus appoints Chronos with the Isles of the Blessed.
Personality[]
As the god of the Sky, Zeus is commanding and fatherly. However, behind that facade is a narcissistic egomaniac. Zeus has an extreme level of self worth and believes himself to be better than anyone else. He treats others as expendable (especially women) and acts like he can do whatever he wants. However, he also has his admirable traits as he cares about his family and his actions are often misguided attempts to help those he holds dear.
Appearance[]
Zeus is an extremely muscular man dressed in golden robes. He has sky blue eyes, white clouds for hair that reach his feet and a similar beard and has a lighting based crown.
In Hades II, he wears a golden chest plate and his hair and beard are now dark grey because they became storm clouds.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Immortality: As a god, Zeus can't die.
- Electrokinesis: As the god of the sky, Zeus has control over thunder and lightning.
Trivia[]
- Zeus kidnapping Persephone instead of Hades is possibly a reference to Zeus being the one allowing Hades to kidnap her in Greek mythology.
